Hi all,

I thought I would share a new blade I made for me. It is a Dall Deweese pattern type of knife. It has a 4.5" long by 1/8" thick blade and has a 4 and 3/8" long handle with Osage wood for the scales and has black liners.

Here is a pic of it all nice and shinny new.

This is what it looks like now. I did a forced vinger patina on it.

I have made some fuzz sticks

scrape my firesteel for starting one of my fires this last week.

I have also used it for cutting bacon, cheese, sausage, spreading butter, slicing some fruits and veggies and then I did batton it through some smaller sticks for spilting them into smaller sticks lol. I have cut string, tape, cleaned my finger nails so far.

I am planning using it for butchering up this guy in Dec.

I have a nephew comming to the farm and with his help and a couple of other knives we will process that dude up.

yesterday while at my camp I made some fry bread bread( bannock) and fried up some bacon for lunch for Kathy and me.

In the process of turning the fry bread over it broke up some. I just flipped it over so it would cook and brown on both sides. It got to where it became a crumbled mess lol but it sure tasted good.

In this pic Kathy is just about to take a bit of it.

I used my Deweese to cut the bacon and spread the butter and shave up some fuzz sticks for that fun meal time.

So far it is going to be a keeper for me and now resides in my pack with my Axe for my woods bumming sharp tool combo lol.

Well thought I would share some pics of it and our (Kathy and Me) time out in the woods at our campsite.

It is fun time to get out in the woods and use a new knife.

I hope you all enjoyed the pics and the commentary.

Take care all,

Bryan

That looks really nice! I`m a big fan of the older style knives, and always enjoy seeing your campsite photos.

That looks like a winner:thumbup: With all that edge, and still having the dropped point for control, there's probably not a lot that knife can't do!

That is a good looking blade Bryan. Lots of belly to work with on that one.

Woderful photos there Bryan. really enjoyed them. I'm a big fan of this style of blade. If I may..Have you ever use removable or allan head type bolts on a handle? You know just in case one of the scales got broken or damaged in the field..just wondering. Best regards. Anrkst

that's a cool looking knife Bryan.. i like it a lot... love the design, it's nice and simple..

Hey Bryan I think that is my favourite of all those you have made so far, looks like a perfect blade for getting almost everything done !
The handle looks perfect as well, I bet it's real comfy to use eh !

It looks like a useful knife to me. That large belly should make it a good skinner, too.
