What do you think of the jakpak for wilderness :)
Is it the best of both worlds or jack of all trades?

Would be a nice thing to throw in a daypack in case of emergency but if I was in the wilderness I'd have something else.

Yeah, it's a great innovative idea but cost prohibitive as an emergency item or just dedicated as a backpacking/hiking jacket. Hopefully the cost comes down, but I do like the concept.

Those look to be a remake of the old alpine cagoule's from the 70's. If they are the same design they were good as an emergency shelter/sleeping bag. Their BIG drawback was condensation, which is a big problem as it contributes heavily to hypothermia.

These may be made of a more breathable fabric, if so they would be a wothwhile addition.

Meh, I would rather see it go the other way in price (up). I don't see it being all that nice at $200 for all those features. A decent bivvy alone costs that much, let alone a high tech shell. I'd be interested to hear from someone that has actually owned one.

Yeah, I guess that's another way to look at it:D You're right both features in a quality product would be much more.

Looks a lot like a parka/overall/sleeping bag combo unit I used to see in some hunting mailorder places. just the summer version

I think the product doesn't live up to what my imagination conjured up before opening this thread...

Maybe a more fitting name - the Dougy snuggy...
