i'm thinking of making more of this design but in 2 sizes. this is the small size. it is 7 7/8" overall with a blade that is 3 1/2" long and 1 7/8" wide. the edge has been flame hardened. the larger size will have a blade over 4 3/8" and 2" wide. overall it will be around 8 1/2" long.

That's a real comfortable knife. Your hand will tend to slide into position as if the curve at the ricasso was an index finger choil.

If you get one with a short handle, the butt will fit perfectly in the heel of your hand. I agree that a longer handle would work well with a palm over 4" across, though, say an XXL glove size.

It is a simple looking design, but Richard has got the ergonomics down pat.

Richard sent me one of these over the pond :) nice little knife. im putting tigermaple scales on it (that he also sent, good guy) but im dragging my feet on the projekt since i have had to move and have nowere to work on it.. summer coming so there will be time and a snowfree yard :) thanks again for the skinner :)

I like it, but what does flame hardened mean?

Very nice! Now lengthen the blade out to 5 inches and you,v e got what I,ve been looking for.
