I refuse to buy the eveo grip. It seems a solution to a non existent problem. It shapes the grip so it is biased for a particular grip in a particular direction. Fine, as long as you are not planing on using any of the tools that require you to grip the knife in the opposite direction.
If you have tools on both ends of the knife, why shape the grip for a better grip in just one direction?
The grips on a regular SAK ain't broke, so they don't need fixin'.
I have a Victorinox Evo grip 16 that I've been carrying for the last 2 months, and like just as much as my Supertinker, I don't find the grip to be a problem at all as far as being uncomfortable for one side of the knife, the extra grippiness of the rubber inserts is a plus
I have a S17 and S18.
Unlike an above poster I have not had any problem with the Evogrip scales. I am indifferent on them.
My models have the lock. The only complaint I have is on the models I have the lever for the lock can make it somewhat difficult to get the scissors out.
Other than that, solid knives.
Seems like they took the Wenger EvoGrip series, changed the name, and doubled the prices. Mine has the Wenger brand name and cost $17.
The knives are nice enough if that's what you're looking for; if you think you'd like a Swiss Army Knife with soft rubbery grips, you won't be disappointed at all.
Funny coincidence, Wife dragged me to the local discount department store to check on some blue light special... and in the knife case was a single remaining Wenger EvoGrip 11. Ten dollars well spent.
