What do you think will happen to B-11 value now that the smaller b10 is worth more?

Tim, I totally agree with you regarding the B-8; I believe it will be the nearly perfect blade!:D:thumbup:

Maybe the price differential B10/B11 has to do with the satin vs coated thing? Since there were no satin B11's--oh, wait...

Basic #5's and #7's have out sold and out valued the Basic #9.

Availability over desirability(expressed as math equation) will define prices and relative value.

Ultimately the B10 won't affect the value of the B11. There may have been some initial belief that they are pretty much similar because of the Res-c, but we are beginning to see they are very different. Therefore they will be sought after for different reasons.

I agree with previous comments about the B11 being a better chopper. I think this is due to the extra lenth, weight and balance profile. I've got an ESEE Lite Machete that outchops the B11 at 1/4 the price. I think alot has to do with the ability to take a longer swing allowing it to bite really deep. Unfortunately even though its about the same weight, at about 18 inches it is too long for me to carry. The B11 has a permanent spot on my pack. Light enough to carry, and can really chop well. It rocks!

The B10 IMHO is absolutely more comfortable and better looking. The ScrapYard style fatter res-c handle trumps the older style Basic res-c any day of the week. The satin, no-choil blade is damn sexy and an efficient chopper in its own right. Its a pleasure to carry. I love this knife!

If only we could have the longer reach and balance of the B11 (or B12 or B13) with the grips, satin and no-choil of the B10. Now THAT will be the killer chopper of all time! Oh, but then there is my DFLE  , and even though its not "INFI" it is about the closest thing to the combination of the two.

I thought I might sell my B11 to get a satin finish B10 but because of the B11's original handle is perfect there is no way. Wish I could get that handle on my B6. Because of that I think the B11 will always be worth more.

Well, for those of us lucky enough to have the Assymetrical B11 , we know we have the last "verifyable" large release of a Busse which were done by Jerry himself. Plus the Assym edge works better in the field ... very quick to sharpen ... and for the sharpness you can take the edge to ... the edge rolls a lot less.

No Assym edges on the B10's though ... if they did I would have got one.

I think the Assym B11 's will become the most desirable Basic Jerry has done ... simply because they work the best and he did them ... and there are'nt that many of them out there.

Funny... Seems that those who want or don't have one seem to think that the B10 will bring down the price on the B11.
Those that have a B11...know better! :cool::thumbup:

:D

But in all seriousness...
Since the B10's have shipped, I've seen a bunch already listed here and elsewhere. How many B11's have gone up for sale since the B10's shipped? I think that I've seen 3...from the same HOG, who I believe most surely still has at least one left to use. That's about it. :) To me, it shows that most folks who have them aren't willing...at least yet...to part with theirs whether they have a B10 or not. :)

I'm keeping my B11's.

They're good.

Real good.

Ditto! and a Asym edge!

This is the logical answer and the CG vs. Satin cost differential will also come in play.

I think part of the issue is that people were unloading their B11's to fund their purchases of the B10 that they got dinged for! Have to keep the spouse happy!

I actually thought of selling another knife to order the B10, but then figured, heck I already have the B11 that I know is great, so no need.

The B10 choilless option, and the handle without the grooves, and slightly bigger handle, plus the satin action were almost too much for me to resist.
