What do you think?

I would add that i'd like the two biggest, heaviest models he sends your way. I'm a big guy :)

Even if i can't afford it, i'm willing to make payments.

I've always thought what you and Pala are doing is great, Uncle Bill.

I too will be interested in one of Dal's khukuris.

OK:...you got Ram in med school in Germany, the Lama Pinroche collecting for a temple, Pala BUILDING a factory somewhere in Nepal, the 200+ folks who directly or indirectly are affected by HI, and this new kami who will be dragging 20 khuks through the jungle to BirGhorka3.

Plus, I seem to remember a waitress at the Atlantis or someplace....

What else...? sheez.

Oh, and then your Dad and brother.

You funny man.:)

What do I think? I think the patron saint of kamis lives in Reno, and has a particular fondness for a certain Dutch brew.

Sounds like this guy's the real deal Uncle, I'd be honored to give him some business.

What do I think? Uncle Bill has sold Dals next years production sight unseen just this morning. Better pass this on to Dal easy so he doesn't have heart failure before we get our khuks.
Anyway it's nice to help out and hopefully extend a blessing to another kami and family.
Thanks for posting this one Uncle!
Remember them in our prayers too!:D

Wow! That sounds great to me! Could add to variety of styles you offer. I am hoping for fast 1/4in. wide, long bladed, short handle old villager style one. {I have Gurkha size hands!} I wonder if he makes them pointy as well?
Regards,
Spiral

I'll take at least one. Sigh, villagers with steel hardware. Love em. Hard workers, don't want to be babied.

WOW!!!! That's at least 15 already spoken for, and we don't even know what his knives look like yet. What a bunch of addicts. :D

I don't need to know brother...

There's a villager who asked for Uncle Bill's help.

I imagine he is going through hard times, and i'm sure that compared to his life in Nepal, i live like a king.

I want to buy this Kami's work. I am sure it will be up to par. Just a gut feeling that he would not want to disappoint us or Uncle Bill. Besides, we're doing a good thing by helping these people, and I KNOW we're helping. The added bonus is we get something great in return!

Great support. If I can swing it I'll try to get some pix of Dal and company.

If he can get his wares to market he's going to be one happy kami. He will be the talk of the village of villages for miles around.

An alert and dedicated Peace Corps Volunteer put this together. Some of them extend beyond the call of duty -- most of them, in fact.

I'm so glad you're slowing down and taking it easy Bill!;)

So far, this guy sounds like the real deal, and seems pretty enterprising. Great work putting it all together. Should work out for everybody. I miss the excitement that occasional shipments of real village stuff generated. It might even stimulate something new to come out of Bir Ghorka. Although they seem to be churning out a lot of new stuff on their own.

I just hope Dal can manage to travel safely and not get robbed or worse. Tell him to be careful. Dunno if it's a good idea to be the talk of villages as a newly rich Kami right now. Only the bad guys win if he runs into trouble.

Put me down for sure for a couple for September/October and a couple more for Christmas.

And your partial retirement is amazing to witness! :D

If people are calling dibs,
I guess I'd better say I definately want one too.

I'd probably be in for one too depending on the knife...

Competition brings out the best in people, it wouldn't do for the kamis to get complacent. It will be interesting to see what this fellow brings in and how quick the BG kamis say "We can do that too, you just never asked" :D

Bill,
I realize that we don't know the types of blades that he is making, but you can put me down for at least one if not two.

There are so many knives spoken for now that by the time there are enough for me to get one, I won't have to worry about going in debt.

I think that this guy is going to be one very busy man.If the need arrises, is my credit still good Uncle Bill?:) :D
