A few days ago I put my foot in my mouth by mentioning I was working on "the perfect all around knife." I should have said the perfect knife for me, but as usual, even as slow as I type, my brain moves slower.:o This is what I like in an all around knife. 5 1/4" blade of 3/16" 1095,overall 10", with lacewood handles. I even took it to the local forest preserve to take pics, but no,I did not do any chopping, they tend to frown on that here. Three days ago we had snow showers, today it`s in the 60`s, so it was a good morning to get out, even for a little while.

Very nice! But for "my" liking the blade would be a little shorter, a tad thinner with micarta slabs.

Very nice John. I can see your love of the Kephart design coming out in this one. :)

Nice job on that!

Can't please someone else if it doesn't please you first.

Funny how the simplest and most basic designs keep coming back. Nice knife, Stomper. It looks versatile and useful.

Very useful looking design John, good work. I like the very 'full' looking handle. Simple and effective.

A little long for me - but like you said - this is a longer version of your hiker - so that is covered.

I found myself nodding when I looked at it. Nice.

Hey John I really like your new blade. That Rosewood looks real classy. Be sure to give us some pics of you using it on the turkey.

I think that picture of the T-Hiker and Pablo the little Caiman, just might make SWAT Magazine!

Sweet! The wood is lacewood, not rosewood. :(
