what do YOU use to treat your buck leather

I use Renaisance Wax on all my leather. It's expensive, but all the museums use it to conserve their collections. I must be a collector?

I've never actually used that on leather but I have on everything else.

It works wonders tho.

How does it work with leather. Does it dry it up?

The leather soaks it up, so the treated leather does not feel greasy. Try it on an old pair of dress/driving gloves.

I used to do professional book restoration and used a number of things over the years, but mostly it was some combination of lanolin and neat's foot oil.

This is what I use now on sheaths. It has a combination of neat's foot oil, lanolin and something else. That something else sure looks and smells like coconut oil, though it's not a listed ingredient. Coconut oil is another traditional leather conditioner.

Mother's also has a leather cleaner, which I have not needed to use.

So many options...
Decided to go with the mink oil...
Worked real good!
Thanx to all replies.
