What's on your holiday wishlist?

Many on this forum are practical, down-to-earth folks who make sensible, practical choices. We try to stick to a budget. Some buy old, antique axe heads and artifacts, then carefully restore them to useful, even beautiful tools. Many of you would never dream of spending over $100 on an axe, or buying a fancy axe just for its looks.

But what if price was not an obstacle? What if you wanted to have an axe or hatchet just for its looks? Have you ever bought an axe just for the fun of it, and then gone out looking for work or projects for your new tool?

If you could ask Santa, what would you choose?

Would you ask for one of those fancy Swedish axes?

Or one of those good ol' Velvicuts?

Or something a little more fun, a little "out of the box"?

Have you been good this year?

What is this? I think I want one...

THAT! Is the APOCALAXE!!! (Trademark registered.) By Council Tool, made in the USA, marketed for defense against zombies(see the Council Tool website), AND it has a bottle opener built into the handle!

I don't actually know anyone who has one, and it may mark you as a mall ninja (see the other thread on the Apocalaxe). But if I find one in my stocking, I sure won't complain!

I asked for repair and maintenance gear, and any salvageable old axe.

If I could have anything it'd be an old locally made axe similar to what's in 'The Ax Book'. Actually have two-single-bits on order from Maine.

I'm pretty satisfied with what I have now, only really need a backup double-bit, a couple swamping axes, and a carpenter's axe.

My wife hooked me up this year (yea it's early but she always does that) with with a Gransfors Bruks large splitting axe and a cord of big chunks of oak. Couldn't be happier.

It is awesome. I'm tearing through the oak. The Mrs. is bitching that the firewood pieces are too small.

I'd like a small cruiser size Pulaski head 1 3/4lb-2 1/4lb that I could hang on a 28" haft.... I've never seen one that small, although I been looking for 3 years or so. Or a Black Raven stamped hatchet head.

For Christmas? I'd like my baby to sleep more that 2 hrs at a time - that sounds selfish, I know; it's so I can work on all the projects waiting on me in the garage lol.

I want a new old stock North Wayne Tool Co. "Thistledown" scythe blade and an original Silas Lamson snath.

My family to be happy.

On the axe front, I have little to complain about as I have been blessed enough to grab some fine old Rodgers, Stohler, R King, Rixford and Collins this year.

There was that minty R King Kentucky on the 'Bay that I lost and I would like to have a Storm Crow 15" Wrecker- maybe I can fix those next year ;)

Bill

If price was not an obstacle, I would really like a RMJ Kestrel. Keeping my fingers crossed that wifey will get me a Condor Soldier Axe and CRKT Kangee for xmas ;)
