While walking through the woods, or on a hike, backpacking, maybe even just going through town. What knife do you usually carry on your hip?? I cant decide what I would keep in my pack and on my hip. The BK-2 or the BK-7???? The 9 is to large, so I just strap it to my pack.

So lets hear it, what do you usually carry on your side?? I realize that it sometimes changes from the situation, so feel free to give an example of what knife in what situation. It doesn't have to be a Becker, if you carry an ESEE, or a Mora, or even a Cold Steel knife. I don't really care, I just wanted to ask my favorite forum.

I carry my Eskabar on my belt every day all day.

If I go camping then I will wear the Eskabar on my belt until we get to camp, then the 9 while in camp for doing camp chores. I will usually throw the 14 around my neck while the 9 is on my belt.

Well, as you know, Jimmy Dean, I only carry my ESEE-6. I wouldn't carry a crappy Becker even if you paid me. ;) I wish I had my Junglas, so I could walk around in Wal-Mart with it, and scare people. :D

How do you wear your EsKabar?? Horizontal, vertical?

Well, are you going to call me by a different one of my nicknames every time you reply to one of my posts?? haha Your loss :thumbdn:. Too bad your Junglas is never going to come. ;)

A simple 12" machete in an old Brigade Quartermasters "Jump Sheath" (mostly so I can carry a file and stone). Not pretty or high speed/low drag, but has served me well since 1990.

I switch up, depending on where I am going. I carry a Eskabar most of the time, using paracord, vertical on my belt. The micarta hugs my side, and the knife is not usually visable under a shirt.
Other days, I need somthing smaller, I'll put my Bark River PSK on my belt. Even the sheeple and family think it's harmless.
Junglas on my outings to Wal-Mart.

I like to carry my BK2 on my hip.....

.....well close to my hip anyways. :D

'round town though I'll usually have my BK14 or the Izula.

EDC a BK14 or an Izula. Woods, I wear a BK2 on my hip, BK9 in the pack, and crossdraw for my BK14/Izula. Bout covers it. I do change up alot of my knives, but my BK12, BK2 and BK9 are with me always. During the day, my BK2 stays in my computer bag, 9 and my Colt stay in BOB.

Gosh, I wish you had a Junglas too. ;)

ETA: I usually don't hip carry in urban areas because I don't care to be "that guy" who comes across as the zealot who scares city kids.
A low riding folder suffices in such a case. The larger fixed blade rides more discreetly on or in my pack.
Off the beaten path, it could be anything in the 3" to 5" range. Lots of knives. Lots of makers. The BK2 and the BK10 are among them.

My BK2/BK14 rig, like this. (Updated pics of the setup on my latest thread.) Or at least when I am in the bush. In town, well, even in the bush, the Pohl Force Alpha Two rides in my right pocket, and the Leatherman Skeletool CX in the left.

Usually have the BK14 around my neck when not working(no fixed blades allowed). Sometimes on the hip or strapped to my bottle holder. BK2 on the hip for the woods only. If and when I get a BK7 or 9 they would be strapped to a pack also.

I often can be found with my BK2 on my belt in the city or in the woods, I also have been diggin my BK11, I think I want to piggy back it on my BK2 Sheath.

Derek you sonufa...:D

Just when I thought your set up was a gimmicky little contraption you go and refine it into something that not only would want but actually wear and use.

Good on you brotha, that is one nice rig with the 14.
