What do you wear on your hip???

While I'm at work I wear my BK11 on my right with my swisstool on my left and HEST folder in my right front pocket. When I'm not at work I drop the 11 as it's not legal to conceal a FB here, keep the swisstool on my left and switch to my Northwoods Scagel lockback

If I'm hiking in the woods I carry my BK11 horizontally on my front left and my Ruger SP101 .357 on my right about 4 o'clock. If I'm camping, BK11 on my left and my BK2 on my right.

When hiking or camping, I alternate between my BK7 and BK2 on the hip (mostly my '7), and my Spyderco Manix 2 in the pocket. I also keep my Eskabar in my pack. Sometimes though, I won't carry a FB on my hip at all, I'll just simply lash it to my pack.

Man, I guess it really just depends on how the mood strikes me at a given time...

A folder in my pocket, my bk2 attached to the shoulder strap of my pack, and if I'm going through really thick bush then I have a 12" machete on my hip. That usually covers it.

As EDC I carry an EsKabar, but not on my belt, it rides in my FR pocket. Easier to conceal that way. If going outdoors I will either put it on my belt with some paracord or around my neck.

Derek you sonufa...:D

Just when I thought your set up was a gimmicky little contraption you go and refine it into something that not only would want but actually wear and use.

Good on you brotha, that is one nice rig with the 14.

Hey man, I will be the first to admit that a good many of my ideas can come across as gimmicky, but I too am really happy how this one turned out, and it is super, super handy. The 14 is at a great angle, and the draw is great on it. The box being there is really handy too, although there are changes I might make to have the lid be a little more secure when separate from the sheath, but on it is rock solid and hasn't given me any troubles so far.

Derek, when are we doing a poll? I saw you ask that in the chat thread and i'm ready to vote.:)

When I am backpacking, which i do alot of here in MT, i wear my Fallkniven SK1 and my H&K USP compact .40. A fine mix of german and sweden.

Sometimes I carry my BK2 on my hip, but I usually don't want a heavy or long knife on my belt so I'll sport a Scrapper 5 or a bushcraft knife. I'll pack the BK9 which I love to take into the woods but don't enjoy it on my hip.

I will do an interest thread after Moose does his review of the MK I box.

I guess I'm one of the few who carry the BK9 on their belt, but I carry it on a second belt. The best carry method I've found is to keep the 9 on its own army surplus belt, which is adjusted to be loose enough that the knife is well below my waist, more like a drop leg position. I have a strap attached at the bottom of the sheath that goes around my leg.

This puts the knife down on my thigh where its clear of a jacket and the Walther P99 at my waist. It's easy to put on or remove as I don't have to undo my primary belt, unthread it through belt loops, or rearrange other items carried on the belt.

When I'm not wearing it, the belt gets looped over the passenger seat of my truck and the BK9 hangs on the back of the seat where it's easily accessible.

The Eskabar is always with me, except in the shower. Bk2 or niner when I'm in the field. BK77 in my library...I still can't take it outside yet. It would make me feel so...well, uh, dirty!

underwear (as far as you all know...), pants, and my BK11 on days off. When departing civilization slightly, my BK2, BK7, or custom Stephen Fowler Bushcraft blade, or, or, or.....
