What does SAK stand for?

Swiss Army Knife

Thank you for being nice to this guy. He ask a legitimate question and got an answer. Nothing worse than blasting a guy for not being an expert.

My wife and I bought an eight year old a new S.A.K. (Super Tinker) for Christmas. I own several. I also bought four Escorts at Big Lots because they were $6.00 each.

Merry Christmas

As far as I can tell, no one has ever been blasted here for "not being an expert". But gentle reminders have been offered to make use of the valuable "Search" function. ;)

However, if that function has been disabled........:o

Don't believe 'em! SAK means Strange African Knife.

Or maybe it's Slimy Ancient Knockwurst. :D

Smitty, we're just having a little fun with you so don't get excited. Heck, I don't know what some of these abbreviations and acronyms mean, either. Swiss Army Knives (SAKs) are really popular with a lot of us, though, and you will probably come to appreciate them, too, if tools mean anything to you. Take a look at www.eknifeworks.com and do a search for Victorinox there. They have a wide selection and good prices, and they've always treated me right. Pay particular attention to the Farmer, the Pioneer, and the Soldier. Those and some other models have the sturdier solid aluminum (Alox) handles.

Swiss Army Knife

Yes not to confuse with a SWAK ;)

Wow! I really opened a can of worms here. I know, stupid question...actually, I knew it was coming, but I realived it too late. Thanks for the laughs, I really got a kick out of this one.

To think I always thought it was Semi-Automatic Knife or one of those dang single action knives. What do I know?

Here's a list of Knife Knut Abbreviations:

You shouldn't otta done that ESAV now look what you started:

As I walked in a neighborhood area not far from home, I heard a massive explosion somewhere distant. Scared the crap out of me and I jumped behind a dumpster.

AFAIK we were under attack. I grabbed my EDC ASAP from IWB in SOB (being an AO CE w/CF TI SS) the only SAK I had I prepared for the BG’s. Wishing I had my FB FRN S30V OAL 12” RC60, I made ready for CQC carrying CS. IMNSHO I was about to engage in SD W/SAK. IIRC a LEO also in the area saw me. LOL he came over with OC and his own PSK (a DA EDC SAK CE SS also W/FRN CRKT OAL 7) and we both ROTFLOAO because he said I had terminal DA for thinking we were under attack by BG’s. We BS’d about CRK, BRKC, CRKT, BM, FB vs. FLDR. JMO IOW it wasn’t TEOTWAWKI, just my DA.

HAGHG! (Have a great holiday guys!):)

A question like this original post, and now we're at #31. Incredible. What a chatty bunch.

Seeing as we're at it, I'd like to invent a Super Action Knife. It would be plastic of course, and come in thick-as-hell-plastic clamshell package along with a Super Action Killer figurine; a plastic clown with glow in the dark eyes. If produced, could sell like hotcakes. Better yet, it could be the site owner's action figure avatar... the one with the parrot.

You could stamp a bladeforums.com logo on the box (you know your customers will all have sharp EDC's and will enjoy shredding the challenging packaging) and use the proceeds to bring the Search feature back. :)
