What does the pirate membership do.

I don't suspect that the "pirate membership" is a scam given the site's owner(s) wanting to have a positive reputation. However given the lack of a straight forward honest answer I am reluctant to pony up $1000. I am still debating getting the knife maker membership, I'll probably get it after I read more about what the forum has to offer. If some one messages me and lays it out with no shenanigans and sells me on it. Maybe when I renew and have $1000 laying around and a compelling reason I'll break out the eye patch and rum.
 
Even Registered Users on Bladeforums are allowed rum, eyepatches, pirate lingo, and participation in shark races.
