I sort of equate Tibetan Buddhists With Catholics, or even the Eastern Orthodox church. I believe Part of the appeal to westerners is that they literally have smoke and mirrors; The pomp and circumstance makes Tibetan Buddhism look more "Mystical" or whatever. This is not an endictment of the religion as a whole, or even its followers- It just does not appeal to me. I find the Dalai Lama an amazing and inspirational fellow, and do not doubt that he's the real deal.
I guess I wasn't clear, and I may not be real clear now.
