I have seen a lot of strange avatars some of you guys use. A prime example is the one Power Noodle has, it always makes me chuckle:D.

What does you avatar stand for?

Does it have a story?

06/01/2012: a picture of the image off a sweatshirt I bought while serving on the USS Nimitz in the late 80's.

06/20/11: Mine is now a ridiculous orange squid hat from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, here in Vallejo. We have named this thing the Super Squid o' Smartness. It makes you smart . . . I think.

06/16/11: Mine is a large plush 'Dug' character from the movie UP. It's kind of a joke - so many members here have photos of their dogs as their avatar, that my son said I should use Dug as mine. Where we live, we can't have pets, so we have . . . well, Dug. :D

01/15/12: my avatar now is of my son, surrounded by our stuffed orcas.

But - we just bought a house, and we get the keys tomorrow. One of the first things we plan to do is adopt a dog. A giant, stinky, slobbery, midget-buffalo of a dog. We can't wait. Then my avatar will be of him. (Or her.) :D

My skeletal pirate avatar (due to the pirate theme in one of the sub forums) comes from the entrance to Grover Beach aka Pismo beach CA. I always told myself that I needed to drive on the beach and have my wheels skim through the pacific ocean. Just needed to do it, and wanted this avatar to commemorate that. It stands pretty tall at the entrance at about 6' or so. I had to make that my avatar. Arrrrrgghhh.

congratulations Chris! great timing, and enjoy your new dog, it will probably chew up dug if you give it any attention LOL

My avatar is a picture of myself on a hike in snowy weather. The other one i use, is of my albino pet ferret, Prop. He's gotten real old now, and he spends mos this time sleeping. He's a great ferret with a real docile personality.

I always like Clowns as i think they are often the saddest person who never got to express their feelings.(the horror movie IT, anyone?)

Simpson is still one of my fav. cartoon and Krusty's one sick lad. Other than that i like Apu.

Having Krusty hiding behind the sofa with a big knife...hmmmmmmmmmmm...Marge?

You probably mentioned somewhere but what's that skeleton with pirate hat, Et?

It’s an x ray picture of a knife attack victim that had a steak knife trough the side of his head. He survived the attack. I sometimes show these x rays to the new guys to show them how much the human body can take punishment and still be able to function. A very nice forum member put that pirate hat on it (arrrrrgggghhhh !!!)

Here is the story on the X Ray.

Counter-Strike players at a Chinese net café over suspected use of a 'wallhack' cheat led to a 17-year-old boy being stabbed through the head with a foot-long knife - and living to tell the tale.

A fight broke out outside the net café regarding the hack, and one assailant decided to do a little hacking of his own, stabbing large knife into the side of the cheater's head, the tip of the blade barely protruding from the other side.
Speaking for everyone reading this, ouch.

The boy, miraculously still conscious, was rushed to a nearby hospital. After around 10 hours of surgery, the knife was successful removed. The boy survived, but is under observation in case bits of rust - did we mention the blade was rusty? - flaked off inside his brain.
So how does someone survive a foot-long knife through the skull? According to doctors, the blade missed major arteries, which kept him from hemorrhaging, and managed to somehow avoid affecting motor skills even though the blade passed through areas that handle those functions.

Edwood7,

You can google "SGT Dan Powers" for another example of a survivor of a head stabbing.
I saw this one on TV, he is amazing!

CJ, I always thought that was a picture of Don Imus. Ya fooled me.

Mine bounces between a piratized picture of my dog and one of my favorite toys.

CJ,

Your avatar has a twin out on PCH north of the bay area, I thought that was what it was to be honest.

I stole my avatar from an anime series I download for my son and I to watch.

I've always like the variant of the traditional smiley. I've had it as my desktop (it startled my son when he got on my computer and brought it out of sleep mode), and I've used it a profile pic on FB. I altered it by turning it red and adding horns to use on the JD forum. I don't know what that says about me. Maybe someone with a Doctorate in Psychology could chime in. :D
