What does your screen name mean?

Hunter,

Go ahead! I've just checked Westlaw, the legal research database, and there is no record of that plate in use in Utah. You shoudn't have any problems.

Good luck!

In my 30's did a bunch of climbing, hence "rock climbing jock" abbreviated to RokJok. But these days my climbing is restricted to climbing out of bed in the morning. ;) :D :D

No I am not a professional shooter, I wish. How cool would that job be? It is all about my politics. I'm an active advocate for the 2nd Amendment, when I am not on the forums, whacking about the yard with my users or buying more INFI. I love the shooting sports, but never have enough time to devote to them. Such is life.

Many years ago, on a business trip, I found a great little brewery/brew pub in a section of Seattle called Fremont. Being a small time brewery, at the time, the guys were great. The marketing director was giving the tours and Mike "the forklift driver" let some of us stack kegs with the forklift.

Also, in the quest for the perfect beer, there was plenty of unique and specialty beers flowing from the taps in the pub. One Rye beer that they were tinkering with was by far the absolute best beer that I have ever tasted to this day. And believe me, I've tried them all. Unfortunately, it never made it to bottle. But I spent many a night on that trip, and on others, in that little pub.

Not to ruin a good story, let's just say that they were bought out by a much larger beer conglomerate and lost all the character that made the Redhook Brewery what it was. So I keep the name in honor of the good old days.:D

Jaime,
thanks for starting this thread. Fun reading. Kinda like a micro-mini VH1 Behind the Music

Drew,
Thanks for checking Westlaw for me, I'm gonna look into that.

"Now Cush became the father of Nimrod; he became a mighty one on earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the Lord." Genesis 10:8-9; NAS

while I have done some boxing and wrestled in college, I was never a CONTENDER for any major title. I have been asked several times if that is where my moniker comes from.

However, I own a boat that is called a Contender and it is superb in its purpose. We use it to transport up to 6 guys 120 miles out in to the ocean (Gulf of Mexico) and back that afternoon/evening) for a day of "radical" and sometimes dangerous spearfishing. It will run at 40 knots (44 miles per hour) all day as long as the seas don't get too big. Only problem is that there is no cabin, no seats and of course - no restroom, so it is quite a long day!

My nickname is translated as "grindalot". Back when I was studying engineering it was given me from some friends at a BBQ. When I freaked out from learning all that theoretical stuff I started my sandgrinder and made me another knive.
Nearly every time electicity burned out in the whole house. You can imagine what happens when all that nerds and geeks come storming out and blame me for loosing the work of the last week.:barf:
So I had to pay for the beer nearly every BBQ to get them calm, two of them even learned the basics of knivemaking.:D

Long story short, I'm a Latter Day Saint (Mormon) that attended a private Baptist university. I had a theology prof who was vehemently anti Mormon, and would routinely condemn me to Hell. In the course of our dialouges, we would refer to C.S. Lewis and his works on Christianity...some of the students started to refer to me as Uncle Screwtape...a character from the C.S. Lewis book The Screwtape Letters as I would often play Devils advocate during the profs and my exchanges. It stuck.

mine came from my nickname wyatt, picked that up from friends because i look the cowboy type and have a long stash like my favorite lawman wyatt earp.one day it just came to me y-it-erp

Got mine when my daughter was little and she loved those toy trucks with the big tires on them. I was building a 1957 Chevy pickup 4wd at the time and she called it Daddy`s Stomper. Still love 4wd trucks- I`ve got a 2001 Chevy Blazer ZR2 and a 2002 Ford Ranger Off Road. I collect trucks and my wife likes Mustangs-a 1992 GT and a 2001 GT.

Mine comes from my nick name "Skag" which came from people butchering my last name, Bisceglia which is pronounced Bi-shell-ya. A teacher in High School once said Biskaglia and my friends started calling me "Skag"! I put it together with my favorite handgun, A SIG 229 in .40 and you have my handle, SkagSig40!:)

What can I say? The first movie I can remember my parents taking me to was The Empire Strikes Back. I became a Fan instantly. That night my parents made their first fatal flaw to creating my cutting addiction, they bought me a lightsaber.

The nickname Darkjedi was given to me by a dear friend and fellow Star Wars fan. My friend came over to my house one day and saw my Dojo/weapons room. He jokingly said, "You've gone over to the dark side dude!":D

Darkjedi - "May the Force be with you."

Well, if anyone knows Latin...Veritas means "Truth"...I also have it tattoed on my shoulder under my families Coat of Arms...Yep...Can i BE more Brooklyn-Bensonhurst Italian...:D

I'm a huge Jimmy Buffett fan, though I also tend to be a loner, AND my first real knife was a Spyderco Delica. Anyhow, Spyderjon comes from the spelling of Spyderco, and the shortening of the Jimmy Buffett song titled "the ballad of Spider John" down to just Jon. Thus, Spyderjon. Oh, and interestingly enough, my real name is not john. It's Anthony :D

Got my online name Jan 13'95 when my brother already had a Packard Bell 75mzh Pentuium running Win 3.1.I had Ordered a new top of the line Gateway 2000 with a Shiny new Pentium 100 and a 1 gig harddrive. It was snowing like the dickens out and didnt think UPS would deliver so I was at my brothers place looking at a NASA site about the old Viking missions on the internet, when I got home there was a note on my door from my neighbor saying UPS had come, the guy lugged the boxes from up the street, through the snow and was'nt coming back with them so the lady let him leave them at her house.

One of the martial arts instructors at the academy I attend, Marc "Crafty Dog" Denny, thought that a number of us (and me particularly) needed improvement in our footwork. He joked that we were suffering from acute "White Man's Disease" (the inability to move with any grace and fluidity). He started having us warm up to salsa music and said that we could dance with our favorite weapons. Not hard to guess what I selected.

my dad was flight instructor in the navy air force. after ww2 he bought 13 stearman bi-planes and brought them to southern idaho for crop dusting. his name was farris and because he stayed sober the nite before the hard dusting jobs, he always dusted the hardest fields. his pilot war buddies started calling him "fearless farris". after too many deaths, he elected to go in to the gas business. he under sold the major brands and because they called him a stinker he took a skunk as his mascot and named his business "fearless farris stinker stations".

well dad died in 83 and left his business to the kids, we have 43 convenience stores in idaho and still fly his name. i just adopted "idahoskunk" cause it hooks up with my business and sounds a lot better than "idahosquirrel"

yup, true story and my wife is mrs. skunk!
