kirby im no idiot, lol but i cant find anyway way to move this the only thing to click on, on the left is the report button is that what your talking about?

yep, the report button. It's a multi-use kinda deal, you can use it to ask the mods to move threads and you can report people haha. Just use it sparingly. :)

 FIFTEEN YEARS?!
What would you charge a company to run analytic software on your database?

...I almost want to do it just to nerd out on the correlations of topics and phrases, how often certain words are used.... The information that could be gleaned must be staggering!

I would love some advice guys i need a drill for my knife making and dont want a piece of crap. can some one help me out a brand that they like or features i should be looking for.

no it does every thing I want to do but I am not a knife maker. it cost me around $200.00 with tax. It has 5 speeds but I have never change it.

I still have a cheep ryobi I bought years ago, they are correct with the CL suggestion, just remember , drills dont drill round holes, so drill under size and ream it to size.

For any sort of quality knifemaking, you pretty much need a drill press which is going to occupy about four square feet of floor space. The likes of Harbor Freight do have drill presses in the $100 range, but the old adage, "you get what you pay for," holds very true with drill presses... as does another old adage, "Buy quality and you'll only cry once." A cheap drill press will drive you to foul language every day. A good drill press will bring pleasure to your life every time you use it and will be a fought-over heirloom for generations to come.

For knife making I'd suggest a drill press. Any kind even harbor freight. For general use, you can't beat a Makita. I have the 18v LXFD01CW it works great and 15 min charging. $169 @ the big orange home store. They also have it with 1 battery and a slower charger for $99.

That should be fine. I have a Black and Decker and a Ryobi; both are basic tabletop models very much like the Skil you're looking at. I would definitely check Craigslist for a used drill press... as long as the motor runs and spindle isn't beat to heck (wobbly) you don't need anything super fancy or heavy-duty to make fixed blades. If you get into folders you will probably want a little more accuracy/precision.

the drill press makes sure you don't screw up. I use mine to drill holes for my knife sharpeners and I don't have to rem it out. the drill bit goes up and then down with no reaming.
