I'm looking for a fixed blade to edc. I would like it to have a blade a little over 3 inches.
Handle scales would be nice, and I would need a compact sheath. Also I would need it to be under $70. It would also need to be made in the USA. I would really appreciate it if ya'll gave me any suggestions.
Thank You.

[Edited to add] Sorry posted in the wrong thread, thought I was in one of the EDC folder threads, so many of them.

For fixed blade EDC: Spyderco Street Beat, I have one, and getting a sheath made for it now at Survival Sheath Systems so I can edc it. Personally I'm trying to get away from EDC'ing folders altogether, though I don't know if I'll succeed in breaking the addiction.

Lots of good knives meet those criteria. Personally I like the Bark River Necker II. I'd recommend going to some of the bigger vendor sites and sort by fixed blade size. That will give you a lot more options than just one or two here and there. Then once you narrow them down, do some research and see if you can handle them first, before buying. That's what I normally do.

Since you are looking for a FIXED BLADE, I'll recommend the Bradford Guardian 3 (go with the 3D scales). It is available in a sheepsfoot, wharncliffe, or drop point; sabre or FFG; as well as a few different blade steels and finishes. It comes with a horizontal leather sheath; but kydex is offered, as well.

If you want a bigger, more hand filling handle, the Carothers Performance Knives (CPK) EDC might be just the thing, if you can find one.
If you don't mind dropping a hair under 3 inches, I'm a big fan of both the Bark River Mini Fox River and Dozier Modified personal.
I also like the Swamp Rat Rodent 3; but it tends to be ground for durability, rather than cutting performance.

Bradford is a fine choice. Another idea is a KaBar/Becker 11 or 14. A cheaper way to give FB EDC a try and great blades .

Second the notion of Bradford Guardian series. I don't plan to EDC mine, but they look like a great design and I just ordered a Guardian 4 myself for trail use.

Do you know if there are any fake street beats out there?

I knew I was forgetting one...
Spyderco Mule - still available in a variety of steels... and Spyderco has started selling Halpern scales to go with them.

You didn't give specs, blade shape, material etc, so I am going to suggest a budget blade I just picked up that is really sweet for the money. Bad Blood Kendrick Rotorhead (Amazon), $27.

  • Designed by custom knifemaker, Sean Kendrick
  • G10 handle scales
  • 8cr14 stainless steel blade
  • Kydex fitted sheath
  • overall length: 9-1/4"
  • Blade length: 4-1/8"

Wow, that's a good looking knife for a good price, is it made in the USA?

I think I would think to the Esee isula

In your price range the KaBar BK 11 or 14 are nice

I would also have a look at tops
They have some min scandi that look good

If you browse Buck some are great too
I think to the 113 in particular
I haven't tried it but it looks good

DPX HEST is more in the 100$ range but nice too

If you can push your budget over 70, the Bradford guardian 3 is a must

I checked to see if the reviews on this knife are reliable, and fakespot told me 0 percent of the reviews are reliable

Ted, sorry I don't know the answer to that, I really have no idea. Here's a semi-educated guess, and some follow-up advice though. I'm going to guess that the main knives that are targets for piracy and selling counterfeit versions are the "popular" models. Street Beat as a small, kind of niche use case fixed blade, has never been super popular or widely known, thus I would suspect there are few if any counterfeit versions of it out there. Best advice I can give: buy from a reputable dealer like Knifecenter, and you won't go wrong. Even if you did by chance get something that seemed off in the box, a good dealer like KnifeCenter is straight up and they'd make it right for you.

I really, really like my Street Beat, it's an incredible quality little 3.5" fixed blade, and extremely comfortable grip with that little built in choil, but still the OAL is short enough that you could harness or neck carry it if you want. I also like the suggestion somebody gave above, the Spyderco Mule Team knives, get in a good steel that you like and buy some scales and a sheath. Pretty affordable solution and I'd be considering that too if I didn't already have the street beat.

Here's my street beat, this is the factory sheath in a Mercharness that you can loop over your arms and carry upside down under your shirt. I'm getting a better sheath made though, the factory sheath on mine is not great.
