What EDC to use??

Thanks everyone for the advice I need to spend some time with me old mate google to find some of these folders

Cheers

Yeah. The review itself isn't too great but I'm still excited about the knife. Wanted a good lenght blade but something thin and the bottle opener will get heavily used :)

That's why I like the 11 so much! Haven't tried the wire cutter yet & hopefully won't have to, but the bottle opener has been very handy.

I have a ZT 0350 which is my EDC folder for when I'm home and on the weekends. It is very "Beckerish" in build, being a very solid tank of a knife (despite being one of ZT's smallest.) I can't carry it during the week while at work however, as I'm in a professional environment and walking around with a brick of a knife weighing down one side of my dress pants is very annoying. During work hours I usually carry a CRKT Ripple in Aluminum. It is very light-weight but needle sharp and useful for the tasks I use it for at work (I'm an IT Server Admin/Network Admin, so opening packages mostly) in combination with my Leatherman Wave.

Folders aside, I've been EDC'ing my BK14 lately and have increasingly felt like a folder was superfluous.

Meant to include a pic of the 0350:

I carry any one of my several Phat Bobs every chance I get. Every human should own a phat bob. But more typically I'll carry a Great Eastern Cutlery conductor or bullnose work knife... ultimately they're more city-folk friendly. I have a Fletcher Pocket Kilo that's my mainstay fixed blade when I want to carry a smaller FB, and my Izulas and BK-11 get their fair share of attention too.

My 'desert island knife' would be my Mark Wohlwend neck knife, though.

I sport an Endura4 FFG in blue by Spyderco most days lately and I find it it to be nice and slicy and I love VG-10 (awesome corrosion resistance). Best part is that you barely feel it in your pocket, very slim profile but it fills up your hand pretty nice. If you want something more heavy duty it would not be a good choice though, I will second Thrill on the Rat-1, it is a 28 dollar tank and I love mine, it's like a poor man's (heavy) version of a Paramilitary2 haha.

If you're talking EDC knives, if it's not an Emerson folder, it's a David Farmer Nessmuk or an Entrek Javalina.

Semi work, semi gentilemans knife? Thats kinda what I was looking for when I found my Boker.

Boker Exskelimoor II for me. I take it everywhere (work, church, out to dinner, etc). The wood scales make it look fancy enough to pass off as gentilemanly, its not "technically" a one hand opener (but its easy to make it work), and its a pretty small knife to keep it legal around here (2.75in blade).

Not my photo, just one off of image search.

They make a larger version, and a version with G10 scales instead (Exskelibur). They're also pretty cheap (~$40-50). The G10 version might be more your style from the sound of it.

The Phat bob is good from what I hear, even if its a bit large/heavy.

There are also a good number of Kershaws out there that could work for you as well (OD1?, Skyline, Chill).

I know, none of them are the BK14, but not all of us can EDC those :(.

I either carry my bk14 or phat bob depending on what I'm wearing or doing that day. I really like the feel (weight and balance) of the PB. Mine has absolutely zero blade play and came nearly razor sharp out of the box. I don't abuse it as much as the 14 because it's a folder, but it can take a beating. The scales are micarta and perform as expected. Overall it's a great second to the 14 as an EDC.
