What else besides spyderco's?

I only like spydies and dislike most other folders because I love the hole and find it fastest and surest secure opening method for me.

What other brands and styles are out there that feel as good? THe closest I have come is the bm griptillian with hole and the old AFCK's with a hole?

Kevin Wilkins makes more than beautiful knives. He also had a license from spyderco. But they outclasses any Spyderco in terms of finnish and quality. (and unfortunatly also in price ).

They look nice but those are some EXPENSIVE knives.

while we're on the subject of holes i have a question. It seems to me I remember several years ago reading that the hole in the knife deal was developed by almar. I also seem to remember that spyderco had to pay a royalty for the use of the hole in it's knives. Is this true or were the 80's just really good to me. If i'm wrong I'm sorry and no offense was intended. If i'm right i get to be spartacus for the day. any other old guys remember this????

If I remember correctly from the Spyderco Story, it was not the hole but the midlock or frontlock that Spyderco gave credit to Al Mar for. I don't remember financail details but the credits were given.
