What Else Do You Collect?

When I was a young boy, I collected frogs, not real ones of course, and elephants. My father had collected turtles, and I my brother has the display case with those. The one I always liked in the turtle collection was a sea turtle with yellow and giraffe splotch motifs, not sure what kind it was supposed to be.

I like Latin American Currency since I used to be a Spanish teacher. Was curious to see what South Vietnam coins and currency looked like before the end of the war. Others I liked before the Euro is the Greek 20 Apoxmai or Drachman coins with a classic Greek temple and the other side with a Greek helmet in a warrior's head; and Italian lira and British New penny. Some neat coins come out of the Caribbean too.

I don't collect currency since it is a whole separate deal (it is still hot right now). Foreign currency is pretty cool though, especially if you got it yourself. There are whole shows based upon it.

Other than knives, I have a bunch of fledgling collections. Fishing gear, power and hand tools, trading cards, baseball caps, wood machinist tool chests. Unfortunately, I have no collecting focus, so I'm more of a packrat than anything.
What kind of trading cards? I forgot about all of my old ones, had to go get them out...here are a few (that Nolan Ryan is cool, I actually watched that game) and the G Brett I had autographed in person before he became such a ween. That Brett is somewhat rare because he quit signing in 80 while he was chasing .400

I used to collect older duck decoys, and still collect old books, especially those on the outdoors. I have six shelves of books on early woodcrafting, firearms, fishing, hunting, and knives. I also have full sets of Mark Twain’s and Dickens from the 1930’s that belonged to my grandfather on a separate set of shelves in the back room. Also many boys books from the early 1900’s, like the Motor Boys, the Rover Boys, and the original Tom Swift, along with some early copies of Zane Grey. I also still collect Buck 110’s, in my opinion the best knife made.
What do you all collect?
Maybe I have accumulated more than I thought, I was an oil trader right out off school and a company that I did business with commissioned a guy who hand carved these every year.

Unfortunately, I was a bit of a nerd growing up (still am, LOL). I have star wars, battlestar galactica, pac man, ET cards.

I think I have a couple baseball cards, but probably nothing special.

I collect cigar box stuff. No real rules, small stuff that fits in a cigar box, and in good condition. Medals, religious items, tools, tourist trap trinkets, just about anything. I particularly like things that I can't identify. I love digging trough the junk boxes at flea markets.

I had a lot of King Edward Cigar boxes that I filled with my stuff. When I was a kid, my next door neighbor smoked cigars and would let me have them. Still have a few. I have one that contains my Micronaughts and football cards from the late 70s. Picked up a few wooden cigar boxes when I was an adult and still keep some items in them, gave one to my daughter too and she has a few items stored in it.
