What emerson should i get?

So basicly I have a once in life time chance and have been given the oppertunity to have any emerson I want. What emerson do you guys think I should get? I was thinking the mini commander or commander.
 
Any production Emerson?

Heck...if it's a one shot deal I'd go with the CQC-12 TiHD or the HD-7 . (especially since that one is kind of a perfected classic)

Commanders are neat knives that "wave" really well, feel good in the hand, and cut pretty well for a chisel grind, but....I'll never have one cause they're such a PITA to sharpen.

If you go with a chisel ground one I'd say the HD-7, or the Super Seven, since they're easy to maintain.

A real sleeper is the P-Sark, light, comfortable and easy to carry. I hated it until I raised the edge another five degrees, then it cut like a light saber.

If you want a V-grind I'd suggest the CQC-11. I've never had one. They just look cool.:D I currently have a CQC-13 that's a neat knife though. Nice fitting handle,well designed blade, and the best fit and finish I've seen in an Emerson.

Yup. Either one should be fine. I have the Mini-Commander and it's not as "mini" as the name suggests, just a hair smaller than the full-size Commander.
 
I have a CQC-10 and like it a lot. Easy to carry, nice balde length and usefull blade shape
 
CQC-11
Nice blade shape with a v-grind. Easy to sharpen with a Sharpmaker, a solid performer (started carrying it for for the hell of it one day.....ended up carrying the thing form a year.......still one of my faves)
 
I'd go with the HD-7. If you don't like it, you could sell it, get yourself the mini-Commander, and have a few bucks left over. Of course, that might not be a viable option if it is a gift from someone you don't want to offend.
 
If it were me, I'd get the karambit...but I'm into that sorta thing and emerson's karam looks really well done. However, liner locks do strike a nerve, so i'd recommend the '12 also.
 
of the production EKI's i like the CQC12 all ti version and the HD7.

commanders as popular as they are are about my least fav EKI, just have never cared for them,

SOCFKs are good also, along w/the CQC8, '7, super 7, and I&I tanto.
 
So, have you decided which Emerson you ARE going to get yet? I would love to know!
 
Heck get one of the big boy frame locks then. Thats what I'd do.

I ended up going with the full Comander-BTS. Ill let you guys know what i think when i get it. Should get in somtime next week :D
 
Excellent choice!! Thanks for letting us know. I used to have a 98 Commander.
