What exactly is the blade coating?

Been curious, seems to hold really well. Curious about the actual of what it is.

Whatever it is, it reminds me of the teflon "non-stick" coating offered on certain brands of skillets and frying pans..

Edit: I should add that I was referring to the black coated blades. I have NO idea what the tan blades are coated with...
