Does anyone know if he hardens the lock bar face or puts some type of coating on it to reduce wear?
Yes they do harden the lock bar face. I forgot the term used (carbonize ?). The biggest things that seperate the Sebbie from other knives are the tight tolerences and the pivot bushing. CRK is constantly upgrading their folders. When the Sebenza 1st came out there was no pocket clip. Then they added one and a few yrs later pt an extra bend in the clip. Now its one of the best clips on the market. The Sebenza started with ATS-34 steel, then BG-42, and now S30v.
What I would like to see is a more user friendly thumb stud. I would also like to see a different finish on the handles. Something that does'nt scratch so easily.

Hey neighbor! If you would have said Large Classic, Dual Thumblugs we could maybe meet up for some coffee and discuss this idea in greater detail. The offer is always there.

PS- I voted prematurely without reading all of the choices (damnit)

:thumbup::)Thanks Ron

Maybe if they'd make an 8th day in the week instead of the measly 7 they give us,I'd be able to catch up on social activities.It's the calender maker's fault,yea that's it,the calender makers.:o:p:D

Thanks for polling everyone!:)

The ONE thing that I'd like to see refined/improved, and that wasn't specifically listed in the poll, is the thumbstud. For someone like me, who likes to frequently open/close the blade (just fiddling with it, basically), the thumbstud is a bit small and/or pointy. Thumb gets a little bit sore after a while (tip of the stud leaves a bit of a divot in my thumb). Wouldn't mind if the stud were somewhat rounder/beefier/smoother at the tip. That's a relatively minor concern for me, though. Otherwise, I checked 'All the above' in the poll. It's a nice knife all around.

Obsessed with Edges,Chris said(in not so many words)in a recent thread of his,constantly flicking/opening & closing the knife is actually detrimental to the knife(any knife for that matter).You're prematurely wearing it out by doing this.Mind you ,it will take a LONG time to wear it out this way,but it will wear it out faster than using it for what it was intended for.
I'm no saint.I've been guilty of doing this,especially with my Zaan.I'm trying to refrain from this activity,but it's just so dam relaxing!:DHeck,If I want something to constantly flip open & close,I should get a balisong.That's what they're made to do & honestly I've been shopping around for one,for just that reason.
No offense bud,I'm just sayin':thumbup::cool:

As far as the thumbstuds go,I like the ones on the Seb,but I like the ones on the Zaan better.They're a little fatter & rounded.That's just my preference.

Well it looks like the bushing system is the big favorite,with ease of maintenance following at a close second place.

Can't really count the All of the above's,cause we just like everything about it!:D

:thumbup:Good poll,I'd like to see what it looks like in a week or so.

Thanks:)

They just exhibit a certain je ne sais quoi - I don't know exactly why I love the Sebenza so much but the first time I handled one I just knew it was something special. ;)

I hear ya JAB,I remember the first time I opened that first CRK box,It was almost like I was 6yrs old again at Christmas morning opening that present I was bugging my folks to get me all year.Yup,It was that good for me.

I've opened a lot of knife boxes before & after that,but none give me that special feeling of opening my first Sebenza.:):cool:

I picked "All the Above" and "Other" to add this... IMO you forgot to mention top notch customer service as part of the Sebenza's "features".

I think the thing I like best about the Sebenza is how the lockbar starts almost all the way down the handle. I also like the double blade cutout, the blade profile and the perfect feel of choking up on the front of the regulars handle.

+1:thumbup: I agree 100%.I've never had to use it,but it's nice to know it's there if I need it.
