As far as wear hiding, stonewash or hand rubbed satin are probably your best bets. Acid wash is good too, if you want a darker blade without going for a full solid color coat like DLC or Ceracote, though I will say that a worn DLC coat looks very nice, makes the knife look achieved, and who doesn't want their knives to look like they do what they were made to do? I just got a Brous Blade Bionic 2.0 in full black-out and I can't wait to see how the DLC coating holds up to full 8 hour work days of cutting through heavy cardboard for a few months.
