David Mary sometimes has fixed blades for around that price and they're really nice.

Exactly my thought!

OP

If you can bump that budget up just a little, David will sell or make you something exceptional.

If smaller but big enough to be real useful is the goal. His Speed Weasel variant is way worth a look. That AEB-L just keeps on cutting/slicing.

Sure Touch is an affordable yet excellent handle material. This one is Sure Touch over Micarta.

are you sure these more knifes are quality? i am no expert but i have never seen quality knifes for 15-20$
Short answer: Yes!

I've been using Mora knives for decades and so have many, many thousands over the years. You can read all about them on Bladeforums and make an informed decision. And if you decide to buy, you're not out much in case it's not for you.

I am looking to get a new fixed blade knife, I am looking to get something that can hold an edge, and is not too big, i am just looking for something that I can cut thing around the house and outside while hiking (example of things I would probably cut: rope, rubber, plastic, animal hide and meat, and sometimes food packaging.
I can't really afford 400$ knifes so I am looking to get something under 100$, I might be able to go over that number a bit though.
If you're interested in trying out a Mora, give me your address and I'll let you borrow one of mine. You can email me: eric //at// doubleefarm //dot// com

For just a hair over the $100 mark Scrap Yard SR101 steel series knives with War Dog style Resiprene-C handles occasionally show up in the Busse/SwampRat/ScrapYard For Sale forum here on BF. For that price, some even come with a sheath, typically a leather pouch sheath. But kydex does show up on occasion.

Besides the Scrap Yard 621 model already mentioned, you could also check out the WS1020, WS1021, WS1121, or other 5'ish inch blades from The Yard. As you approach $150, you find their WD5 model in AEB-L steel (shown in the middle position of picture), which also wears the War Dog style Res-C handle.

Bottom knife is stripped Becker BK15 user, which can be found for a bit over $100, albeit somewhat rarely at that low price point. Other Becker "Tweeners" might also bear consideration, i.e. BK16, BK17, BK18, BK19. Other small Becker models fit the specs as well.

I'd also concur that looking at skeletonized neck knives can offer some slightly cheaper alternatives.

Either has great ergos, blades and steel offerings.

Terava 110 or 140- just fantastic knives and prices

A few excellent makers on the exchange offer blades a little above your budget but great prices.

With a $100 budget, you don't have to spend up by much to get into some cool stuff on the exchange if you bide your time. Otherwise, there are some great production knives available on a budget.

One of my favorite recent releases is the Vosteed Mink in Nitro-V. It's compact for carry but still comfortable to use and has a great blade shape. It comes with a good Kydex-type sheath and something similar to a mini Tek Lok. (I switched to soft loops.) Here is mine.

Another nice one for just over $100 is the Asher Lil' Buddy.

I’m more or a pocket knives guy and I don’t have a lot of fixed blades. So I’m going to offer what I know - Buck knives. Depending on your preference for size there are several options currently in that price point. I checked BladeHq but if you look around you might find a better deal.
Most people, myself included, seem to like the 119 special a lot. It has 6 inch blade. Some other options in different size:
102 woodsman at 4inches
105 pathfinder and 5 inches
120 general at 7,35 inches.

There is also the Vanguard mode which I also like, but at that price point it’s with the rubber handle, which isn’t my favourite. Here is a pic of the 119 and Vanguard in hand.
