Someone who's picky about the tint of their LEDs. The "white wall" part is that you shine your light against a white wall to detect a particular tint. White LEDs often have blue tints (since a white LED is in reality a filtered blue LED), sometimes violet, or on the other end of the spectrum, green or even puke yellow tint.cardimon said:I gotta ask, what are "white wall hunters?"![]()
The dig at "white wall hunters" is that in real-life use, unless the off-tint is extreme, you'll never notice the tint, except when shining it at a white wall. Sometimes you need to compare it to another LED to even see if there's a tint in the first place.
My Fenix L1P has a very slight green tint, but I can only notice it if I compare it to my HDS 42XR. My Arc AAA+P has a noticable yellow tint, bordering on green, very noticable if I'm looking for it (or shining it at a white wall), but if I'm just looking around outside, it's irrelevant.
