What folder do you consider the “best-looking” folder?

It doesn’t have to be your favorite knife to use, but what profile do you find most aesthetically pleasing, and why?

For me, it is the Hinderer XM-18 Harpoon spanto. I don’t really like framelocks, but the XM is the one that always stays in my collection.

When I first got into knives, the XM was my grail. I drooled over one for ages. They were going for $800-900 at the time. I did what I thought was completely insane at the time and shelled out $850 for one.

That was over ten years ago, and I’ve been through hundreds of knives since then. I prefer compression, axis, shark, and Triad locks now; but I still haven’t found anything that, to me, looks better than the XM.

I think the harpoon spanto just looks gorgeous, and well as Hinderer’s stonewashed. I also love the way the jimping on the flipper at looks in profile. The handle shape looks cool to me, and the texturing of the G10 just completes the package. Every time I look at the XM I just think “that’s what a knife should look like”. It looks rugged but elegant and there has clearly been years of evolution that went into the final design.

So, what folder just “does it” for you?

I love and have all the above, except the Hinderer Spanto - something about the Spanto grind that rubs me the wrong way. Hinderer Bowies being my favorite .... maybe because as a kid I always wanted a Buck 110, and all mom would allow for (after pressure from dad) was a SAK.

Note that this used to be a Harpoon Spanto, much better than the original now :)

WE 604DS is probably my choice. Either that or an XM-24 in full silver titanium.

Sadly I can't find a pic of the 604DS that I'm easily able to add here...

That hollow grind looks killer!

Hinderer's are just slick. Beautiful knife, super well made. If I had the money...

Gotta stick to WE and Kizer level for now...

That dragon scale milling really catches the eye!
Too bad it's so expensive!

Actually, I have to mention the Kizer Nomad in here. It's really more towards the budget side of high-end production, but I think it's pretty slick. And the fact that I was able to pick one up for $140 makes me appreciate the aesthetics more.
