Hey guys. I know there's been plenty of pocket dumps, etc. But, i am really curious to hear what folder you carry the most. I am specifically looking for one-handed openers. I carry a vic farmer always. i've played with a few one-handed folders, but nothing has ever replaced my farmer. with that said, a one-handed opener is definitely convenient.

outdoorsfan gave me an Endura 4 for the Christmas swap, and i actually really liked it. but, i gave it to my brother a couple weeks ago. So, I am in the market for a replacement.

the gun shop that i frequent just received new stock of spyderco's. they had the gayle bradley and the manix 2. i had been looking at both, so it was nice to be able to handle them. i do like the GB. but, i am trying hold off purchasing anything until i see what may potentially be at the gathering to handle.

I have my eye on the spyderdco stretch. i like the grind and the handle shape looks good to me... and it is reasonably priced. oh, i should mention that i am looking for one that is 4+ inches closed with at least a 3" blade length.

sooo...what are your favorites? i mentioned spyderco, but could be anything. thanks all.

I carry a Spyderco Manix 2 XL. Have it clipped to my pocket right now.

I also carry an orange Benchmade Grip (154 CM) and a Kershaw Random Task (CPM 440V).

I have some other Spydies and Benchmade but those are the main ones I carry the most. Of the 3 I like the Manix the best.

I'm really enjoying the Kershaw Speedform II. It has replaced my Spyderco Police SS as my edc one-handed open.

i forgot to mention the griptilian was the other one i had been looking at online. and the gun shop had a couple of those, as well. i didn't like the feel of it as much as some others. it almost seemed too light, if that makes any sense. just didn't like the feel of the handle. too bad because i really liked the fit of the handle and blade shape.

i liked the manix 2 i tried. i am just not used to the locking mechanism.

thanks Sean.

I love my GB, usually carry it or a ZT 0550 with my Vic Hiker. I am amazed how well the GB cuts, the thin grind combined with the M4 is awesome.

The FRN Stretch is my all time favorite Spyderco, carries small for the blade length and will really cut.

I generally carry a Benchmade 710d2. I absolutely love it and it will be very hard to find something to kick it out of my pocket. I'm left handed and I insist on lefty friendly clips on my tactical folders. That said, I am carrying a Spyderco Endura 4 that has been modified by Unit and it is amazing. It's been thinned down and convexed and he did some really cool filework to the spine/lockbar. It is one of the best cutting tools I have ever used.

Will it replace my 710. Probably not. I have to send it back.:D

I was carrying a Spyderco UKPK during the week when I'm at work and a Kershaw Rake on the weekends when I'm on the property or camping, but for the past several months it's been either the 2012 BF traditional forum knife or a GEC Swayback Jack. (in addition to the vik huntsman that rides in the pocket with my car keys)

Kershaw shallot!
I love it & have been carrying it since I got it in 09 I think it was.
It's slim & sleek & has a sexy recurve blade.(and no datblamedhole:barf:)
The blade jumps out like a switch blade with a nice snap thanks to the torsion bar of the Speed Safe assisted opening.
It's a solid steel frame lock, with a 3.5" blade,4.625" handle & it rides very unobtrusively in my rhp.
No hole,no thumb stud,just flip it baby. ;)

Here with my little Ebony Pemberton.

I love my Shallot!

Hey Todd,

I've tried a few, but have been selling them off slowly and I tend towards a smaller knife then you it seems in folders as well :)

I've got 4 left
1. BM 705 (discontinued rarely see them now),
2. BM Nagara (discontinued but you can sometimes find it),
3. Kershaw leek (first knife i bought that is considered "quality" so it's grandfathered in an sits in a nice box with my red farmer now my cadet gets all the play and a flashlight that's in the same boat),
4. Endura 4 that was gifted to me. I try not to sell knives I get as gifts and have so far succeeded though i wouldn't have a problem gifting it myself.

The first two (the 705 and Nagara) are the only ones that get edc time, and neither of them meet your criteria of 4+. If I were to buy any back that might it would be the BM 710 or the BM Barrage.

In the last couple years my most carried pocket knife has been a Benchmade mini grip and occasionally a 710. That being said, I have been carrying this SAK one hand Trekker for the last few weeks and really like it. Not as quick to deploy as my BM but I like that it has a few extra tools.

It seems most of the Trekkers are serrated but they can be found with the plain edge.
Yes, i did make the pouch. It has a pull the dot snap loop on the back for belt attachment . Since this knife didn't have a pocket clip I figured the pouch would give a little easier access. Sometimes I still carry it in my pocket though.

I had a serrated trekker, but like scissors & a saw on my SAK so I now have a Ranger.

Kershaw Oso Sweet isa fast EDC knife, I'd really like a Shallot though.

My Spyderco Salt 1 is my most used Spyderco, then my Cricket, but the soft H1 steel didn't work for EDC for me, I'm carrying a Manix 2 now and though I would love the LW version, this has become my favorite one-handed knife rather quickly.

I used to have an EDC rotation of many folders with pocket clips. That changed when I finally bought a Sebenza. Along with a Farmer it has been my EDC for several years and I don't see that changing. It was a lot of money for someone with my income but I have never regretted the purchase. If I were going to carry a Spyderco it would be the Military, a lot of blade that rides in your pocket very well. If I'm not at work where I have to carry a designated model I have either or both of these in my pocket.

Back in the day, when I had a job, I had that same Sebenza. The only one handers I have now are a second generation Endura, a stainless 50/50 edge Delica, an early micarta handle Calypso Jr., and a Kershaw I won at the last Gathering, not much help here.
