What Folder should I get?

I am looking to get a new folder. My limit on pricing is $100. I would like a blade no bigger than 3". I would like any and all suggestions. Thanks!

Kershaw Ken Onion Leek Composite 3" Plain Edge Assisted Opener CPM-D2 Edge

Thanks, Vassili.

The CRKT ken onion ripple. Around $60. I got the blue one and am loving it.

I know a lot of these are much lower than my price range, but what Kershaw knives would be good for me? I have had good experiences with this company.

Spyderco Sage Carbon Fiber Plain Edge Knife, looks great and is a very nice EDC size. I have one and I love it, it is a main EDC rotation knife.

This is the best folder (for me) for just under $100. It's perfect for a city EDC blade.

Key here is steel, they are very good with CPM D2 and have few model with this one. I personally like Rake and Junk Yard Dog - they have models with composite blade and CPM D2 on the edge. But for 3" blade I found only Leek.

Thanks, Vassili.

I agree with Vassili on the composite bladed Leek. Leeks are thin, sleek, and good looking. The metal handle is slippery, so I only use mine as a dressy knife. The FFG Delica and the mini Griptilian are also very good choices in the sub-3" category. Someone mentioned the classic Buck 110, which is too long, but the Buck 112 has a 3" blade.

Spyderco Delica 4, FFG or sabre grind it doesn't really matter to me. Either way, it'll be tough as a tank and it meets your specs. As previously mentioned, you can get it in a variety of colors so as to make it look a bit less scary (not that it really does in the first place, but you never know with people nowadays). Also, you might want to check out the Benchmade Doug Ritter Mini-Griptilian, for a little more money you get the Axis lock and S30V steel, plus a great blade shape and better-looking knife overall IMO. Happy hunting!

I would go with a kershaw blur (in s30v) or a junkyard dog with the composite blade. Can't go wrong with either IMO.

Really like the Kershaw R.A.M I got 2 weeks ago. It's light, solid lock, fun to deploy, not too large or too small.
On the negative side, I would say the lock is in a somewhat awkward spot, but I've since gotten used to it and it bothers me not at all.

All in all, an excellent knife.

Weirdest thing, inspite of having a number of the sort of "must have" $100+ knives that are very popular, I find myself really appreciating and using the more moderately priced Kershaw OSO Sweet (much better handling than my Leek), Buck Vantage Pro, Spyderco Tenacious & Persistence... these knives are a fraction of the price and provide outstanding utility... and I never think twice about whether I might be devaluing the knife by using it hard. There really is a lot to love about the high quality, lower priced knives that we are so fortunate to have available to us. Call me crazy, I guess, but most of my really nice, expensive knives tend to be more coddled and reside in the knife drawer, while I happily give the chores and daily carry use to my less "special" knives. I don't know, somehow the more ordinary knives seem really great to me, and they're so affordable too! For a hundred bucks, get yourself a Buck Vantage Pro and a Kershaw OSO Sweet.... you will love these great knives.

Delica or any of the Mini Grips and you can't go wrong plus you can have both for about a $100 total.!!

Another Spyderco Delica fan here.
A good quality, good value, general purpose knife for urban use and handy enough for most camp duty (except firewood batoning!)

There are many thousands of them out there for a very good reason. They are a very good knife.

delica if the blade must be 3inch or under. but honestly the para 2 is a great great value and you get alotta knife for the 100$ price tag A LOT.

Mini-Grip gets my vote ... I've been EDC'ing same one for over a year and its been used to cut, slash, pry, hammer, screw and anything else I can think of and it still won't give up... I hate to say it but I always try to push it farther to see what the limit of abuse this thing can take is and have been pleasantly surprised its still going strong :o...

Only signs of ware it shows are the BK coating coming off (expected) but the lockup is still solid. I like it so much I've picked up a spare just in case :D...
