Thanks for the many constructive advices, will look into them. Regarding the Spyderco's it's mainly the looks that doesn't appeal to me.

Kinda like the tactical look without going completely overboard, still want a functional blade

No worries. I was the same with Spyderco until I started carrying one. Then I carried a knife that was 4x in cost and found I preferred my Spyderco. Buy what you like and share a few pics with us
