What folders match these specs?

A second suggestion to consider the Real Steel S3 Puukko Flipper. It has all of the qualities you specified, namely M390 blade, frame lock, flipper, 4.0 oz advertised weight and all for a nickel less than $155. In addition, it's a titanium frame lock and the blade rides on bearings. One possible issue though - the blade exhibits a dual grind, in the same spirit as the Spyderco Terzuola C174 Double Bevel.

Esee avispa in D2. Comes close... well maybe not as close as you want. Frame lock, good action and light weight. Blue ridge knives makes it for Esee and who ever heat treated the D2 was spot on the money. Holds an edge very well against cardboard.

My guess would be that XHP is easier/cheaper to work with than M390 and its counterparts. It's still a pretty desirable steel though so they can charge more and have higher profit margins.
Idk about that, I know some custom makers who either won't work with XHP or will charge a higher "cause it's harder to work" labor mark-up with it yet are happy to use M390 / 204p / 20cv with no additional labor charges (only passing on the higher cost of the premium steel)

The annealed / pre-HT workability of XHP is some of the hardest in the industry bar none.

Thanks for the tips all, I went with the Lionsteel Tre flipper in M390, this one at KW. Looks like a fantastic knife, also just happens to be one of a very tiny number that fit my picky specs. :-) And it'll be my first Lionsteel, always wanted to try one. Now following my usual practice of thinning the herd when I buy a new one, I need to figure out a folder to sell. I have an extra RH Para 2 that I don't use, it's probably next up.

Excellent, let us know what you think.

first reply was the best and only one necessary. use the filter button. /thread

Difficulties reading? I said there wasn't much available in the posted specs, and most of those knives don't fit those specs. A total of 4 knife models (excluding multiple colors in same model) fit the posted specs. The models that fit, were suggested here in forum, and I ordered one of them.

I've never tried a TRE but, FWIW, I have a LionSteel SR-1 that I absolutely adore.

Their designs look really appealing. A question that occurred to me AFTER I ordered , since made in Italy, what do you do if you have a warranty issue?

Heh. I have not encountered any problem beyond needing to order a replacement of a tool that I lost, which was no problem. I haven't had to send anything in for service.

Lionsteel is large and reputable with an online warranty page.
Just activate, wait for authorization, then ship it.
Takes a little longer to and from Italy is all.

Make sure you're happy with the quality your new TRE though as it's simpler to ship it back to the distributor for an exchange than it is to deal with international shipping.
Should be okay though, they make quality knives.
