What folding knife did Sherlock Holmes have?

See this post by Bernard Levine for a classic multiplex knife of Bohemian style.

Holmes once disdained the King of Bohemia's proffered gift of a magnificent emerald snake ring in preference for a photograph of Irene Adler. It is not beyond the realm of possibility that the King later sent such an item of superior Bohemian workmanship to the great detective as a gesture of thanks for services rendered. Although he would no doubt have purchased from Sheffield, it is not inconceivable that such a gift would have made Holmes familiar with the type.

Berkley, Thanks for posting that.

I thought in "A Study in Scarlet" Watson described Holmes as carrying an XM-1, but I could be mistaken. Was a VERY early prototype of Rick's knife! :D

Klingsteve, are you sure it wasn’t a Spyderco? They were started in 1878.

Right?

1878? 1978? 1878… Watson, it’s so confusing!

I just watched the latest episode of the season of Sherlock.. and spiked my interest to find the thread. I don't know if anyone has seen this but apparently the cast seems to believe that if Sherlock was in modern london he would have a leatherman haha.

I don't disagree with that. But that model locks, right? Isn't that a no no in London? A non-locking Juice is more likely. And, to keep things traditional, he's surely carry a GEC White Owl for most day-to-day tasks. :-)

I'm pretty sure Bruce's original question, asked 4 years ago, has been answered by now. I'm very sure SH didn't carry a Leatherman. I'll close this one now as the slippery slope to non-traditional knives wasn't what Bruce was after.
