On the trail: Home-meade GORP stuff. Almonds,rasins,sunflowerseeds,dried
pineapple ,peanut M+M's.
+1 on the steel cut oats. That and some morning protein has been a good experience for me. Couple of cups of coffee to get the blood and bowels going before departure leaves me with a little more spring in my step

For on the trail, I add extra almonds, dark chocolate, dried fruit, and whatever else I want into the cheap wally word mountain trail mix for on the go gorp.
