What for my new EDC? Love axis lock

And now I continue to feel torn. Does anyone know if there are replacement scales screws or other parts for the 94X series?

Yes. Deathofallthings on the forum makes them. Great quality. But once you pay for the 940 and custom g10 scales you could have bought the 940-1.

One other thing. 940 and grip both have nested liners. Very difficult to make scales - if you want to try to make them yourself. If you do want to try get a knife with full Length liners. 707 or 710?

My personal favorites are 940-1 and Ritter grip with custom scales. The latter will be just over you $200 budget.

That DR grip doe seem to be quite popular and the price is still great. Besides the S30V blade on it any other big differences between that and the normal grip, oh and that you can get it stone washed (which is awesome).

And to everyone else about the 950 I am worried it may feel a little bigger than I'd like. But it's nice because of those g10 scales axis lock and S30V blade.

The Ritter Griptilian with m390 steel is a great choice and may be modified with different grips fairly easily. Godd price relative to the 940 and a very strong knife.
