What Frustrates Custom Knife Makers?

I just gotta ask this!!!!!!!!

Do you guys get "frustrated" when you have been asked to put a little more into one of your knives only to see it go up for sale a short time later?

I certainly do not mean this in reference to a Dealer who you expect to sell your knives, but someone like me for example who asks you to do something special, tell you how much I love the knife and then without ever telling you anything different, put it on the market.

Does this cause you ANY frustration???????Ira

ira, i hope my customers never have to sell. there are a million resons that the people sell, lost thier job, divorce, need cash to pay for another, and just plain none of my bussiness. i would like to have them contact me first. if it is not too customized or abused i will buy it back.

Lmao Ed!!!!! That happens to me all the time. The harder I look for something the more invisible it gets. I still haven't found the hole in the floor of my shop that the little folder screws I drop fall into. I know it's there some place, they can't just be evaporating. Or can they???

Ok Ed, what you posted adds a little more evidence to support something that I think was possibly written by Stephen King. This is the idea that there are beings that exist in time just seconds ahead of us. Their job is to continuously construct what is about to happen next in our lives. If you walk into a room, it is their job to make sure that room is there just as it was the last time we were in it. The reason that we can not find things is that the being whose job it is to make sure that item is where it is supposed to be, has forgotten to do so. The reason that we find it in the place we were sure we had already looked is that the being realized the mistake that was made and has corrected it. They have however done this to late for us to find it the first time we looked in that location.

I know this has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of this thread. Then again, maybe it does. It is highly likely that reading stuff like what I just posted frustrates some of the makers out there.

You may have it perfectly explained Keith. That is the only possible explanation. In the mines we had Tommyknockers. They made all kind of sounds when they were upset and were claimed to be associated with caveins. Some left food for them, or if you spit to the left they were concerned. Tools, small personal items got lost, the Tommyknockers had them. Now all we gotta do is figure how to maker friends with the beings. I could use friends like that in my shop.
