GEC 54 Big Jack
Not normally a huge fan of acrylic but it was a gift from my wife. It's grown on me, still don't think I'd purposely go buy another unless I got a dang good deal on it.

Excellent, only other one of this variant I've seen outside of mine.

Yeah, assuming you mean the red river acrylic? Is yours as dark as mine is, I've seen a few that came out very red.

I'm always surprised I don't see more of the big jacks. They've had a couple runs of them, but I rarely see people post pictures of them at all. I do remember someone having a collection of them, but I can't remember who.

I know people thought they were on the heavy side. But compared to the new 23's these are nothing. Ironically considering I'm not a fan of acrylic this one actually has the best fit and finish of any GEC I've handled.

Mine is indeed very dark unless you're looking at it in direct sunlight, then you can see the red stratiations through it. I'm only recently much more into traditionals, so there are few traditionals where the weight's an issue (cough #23, cough). The #54 is a decent size, and with a couple of large blades, capable of handling virtually any cutting chore. I have a few of these large Jacks myself.
