What got you started on Spyderco? What got the "Spydie bug" into you?

I got hooked while I was young in Boy Scouts. A few of the cool older kids had Spydercos, so I wanted one real bad. All I could afford was a ladybug, which along with my SAK held me over for a while. When I got Eagle Scout, my parents got me an Endura 3, with my name and 'Eagle Scout 2002' engraved on the blade. It was an AWESOME gift for a 17 year old. I still have it, and take it hiking occasionally. I now have around 75 other Spydies, and don't see myself losing interest anytime soon!
 
I cannot remember whether my first Spyderco was a Mariner or Police. The pocket clip and the hole were what caught my attention, though after losing several clipped-in knives, including my Mariner, I have largely rejected the pocket clip. I still have my Police, though its tip broke, so I re-shaped it to a squared-off profile for light prying and scraping.
 
The PM2 was my first. There were so many great reviews I had to get it. It lived up to them and then some. It is great in so many ways.
