What grind did the original Chinese Dao have?

Does anyone happen to know? Unfortunately, all I can find are cheap tinfoil swords or "reproductions," and I'd like to build a small scale model for a friend.

Are you talking about flat vs. convex vs. hollow? Or more general proportions of the blade itself? Here's an image of an old piece: http://therionarms.com/sold/ttoy330.html

Most other notable sword cultures seem to have developed the convex edge rather promptly; I would imagine the Chinese to be no different. Of course, I could be wrong.
