what grit?

hey guys i finally took the plunge and bought my self a 2x42 grinder, but now im wondering what grit is the best for general shaping?
im not really looking for grit progression, i finish sanding and such by hand so just the best for grinding large amounts of metal.

I do my roughing out with 40 grit ceramic blaze belts and they work very well

i use 36 grit zirc belts and i get good results

I know you're opposed to grit progression, but logic dictates at least 2 sizes, 36 and 100 grit. 36 grit is great for hogging metal, but will leave really deep scratches that would be tough to get out. 100 grit will get most of the 36 grit scratches out, but will leave plenty for you to hand sand.

Agreed, 36 grit from supergrit are the best hoggers I've found for the 2x42.
