What happened to Buck Knives?

Nothing is perfect. If you don't have the skills or tools for easy fixes then send it back in. They will take care of it. And as stated, I have done this with all the best known and popular brands.

That's an option, but are they gonna pay for shipping? Why should the consumer have to pay extra because they didn't get it right in the factory?

Buck makes plenty of high quality blade right here in the USA.

But they also make other blades for different market segments.

Real simple. Call and ask them.

Many companies will pay for return shipping on a warranty issue.

Just ask them.

...Just ask them.

I agree. If you are having that many.issues I think it's time you go right to the source. They might be interested to know why you are getting so many clunkers from the same dealer.

outside of the Strider/Tarani collabs, they haven't done a ton in the 'tactical' realm, which is where the focus is. The Vantage seems to be doing ok as far as reception goes, but that's one series. The CSAR doesn't look to be as easily adopted.

I don't understand this at all. I have the CSAR and it is one great knife. It is amazingly tough, great steel, terrific G10 rocky tread handle and a hell of a bargain. Also one of the sharpest knives out of the box I ever bought. I also have the Buck Vantage Pro and have been EDC'ng it for quite a while. I love Buck's products and you can't beat the warranty/Service.

I sent a Buck 450 back to them a while back. I was the second owner and the lock would not engage. They sent me back a new one, no questions asked on their dime.

I think it's just the age of the Buck brand and the traditional offerings they have. A lot of custom collabs in the tactical realm might 'help' (if it's considered they need it) Seems to be how Kershaw manages a sort of duality where they can offer the traditional style of folders and have more 'bleeding edge' steels and features in the catalog. Being able to have a phrase like "Buck knife" gives the brand a lot of familiarity, but that doesn't seem to interest new guys so much.

But it's almost like asking "What happened to the Swiss Army knife guys?" Nothing much, other than serving the global market for a long time and still being considered a good quality tool.

My Buck 55 is a hell of a great pocketknife. Classic design, built like a little tank and it came extremely sharp out of the box. Highly recommended.
