What happens if you don't carry your EDC every day?

There will be a knife emergency, the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the value of daily knife carry to the masses/friends/family but you won't be ready. Sheesh. Always be ready for that moment when you can smugly whip it out (you do know I'm talking about your knife, right?) and solve whatever problem has presented itself ;).

Ta hell with feelin' nakkid !

It's like this. . .imagine a beautiful nakkid woman laying on a bed in front of you. She has just invited you. . .to take her.

* NOTE: Earlier in the day. . .you've rushed yourself in preparing to go over to this knock-outs abode.

Hell. . .you're ready to rock ! As you begin to take this "hunka hunka a burnin' love". . .she reminds you that you must wear a condom to ravish her.

You guessed it. . .in your rush. . .you forgot to pack your trusty condom(s) ! :( :o :grumpy:

Talk about panicy. . . ;)

Exactly. Feel naked without a knife. Qoute from Len McDougall's laws of wilderness survival:18. Animals have teeth and claws for the same reasons humans must carry a knife.

Yesterday, I forgot to carry my EDC (fittingly, a CUDA EDC while at home in Hong Kong). I still had two little blades in my Leatherman Micra and SOG Crossgrip, but I still dreaded having to pull out my keychain and clumsily open a multitool for a puny blade. Good thing there weren't any cutting tasks yesterday. :)

I NEVER leave the house without a knife. Especially to school(tiny one:D ) I always leave one close to my wallet so that way I won't forget it. Unless I forget my wallet...

It was a freak occurrence, leaving the knife. I had just used it to cut something and left it on my desk, and ran off without it because I was late.

I always leave 3 or 4 knives near my wallet. In fact, I have a little section of the desk specifically for putting EDC stuff. Pens, knives, flashlights, keys, all 3 pounds of stuff that ends up in my pockets when I head out the door. :) It's my own little armory.

I always have my EDC with me.
Even in jury duty :D

You just got to love living in South Dakota when your a knife nut :)

90% of the knives I own are potential EDC's. At this point in time , even I don't know how many I own. They are scattered about shelves and drawers, and believe it or not, I know where they all are at any given time. Another individual moving one from where I've laid it is not tolerated in my house, if you need it moved, tell me I'll do it. No other may use or borrow one either. I am jealous that way. I will buy you, or give you one for your own. They are the closest thing in this life I will ever have to a harem. I call them(my knives)my bevy of "dusky beauties". I have been on occasion heard to say to one my beauties;"Come to me, for I need you now. I, your master has a great affection for you, but do not grow complacent in my love for you, for one day you may be sold and serve another." Am I taking this too far? Those around me are starting to look at me funny.

I decided not to wear my knife when I went to the hospital to visit my wife. (No she's not sick - we just had our first baby)
She said 'I'm glad you're here - I want you to ..cut up this fruit..trim these flowers...cut off this wrist band...cut this towel in half...etc.'
When I sheepishly told her that I didn't have a knife on me she said 'buying those knives and not carrying one has no meaning !' Having been duly chastised I always take my EDC everywhere I go now.

by the way - when should you give your son his first knife - and what kind should it be ? (I have several years to think about it)

Congratulations on your baby:). And you better listen to your wife and never leave your knife behind again:D. That is funny. I think my wife would tell me the same thing.

I don't know what age would be good for a kid's first knife, I think I was 6 or 7. My first knife was a victorinox swiss army knife, which I still have. I think a sak is a good first knife and I plan to do that when I have a child.
