What happens to people?

I was looking up some old threads today and saw a post by gajinoz. I realized he hadn't been around here lately so I checked his profile - no activity here since November last year.

So what happened? For all we know, gaj lost interest in knives over night. Or maybe he's in jail or was hit by a bus. And there are lots of other people that just disappear one day. I often wonder what would happen if I died or was incapacitated.

Guys like Vampire Gerbil have deeper roots, and people here knew pretty soon about his terrible stroke. But what about those of us who don't know other forumites in the real world? My wife would never think to go on my forums and let anybody know what happened to me.

Maybe it's time to think about that kind of thing. Even if you're a bit player, Z-list celebrity like me, some people might like to know if you're dead. Why not arrange for somebody to come here and tell the forum if you die or have all your limbs cut off or something?
 
I just don't believe any personal tragedies that happen in my life are anybody's business but my family's and mine. Why would I put it on here?
The exception is, if it was something that was used to illustrate a point in a thread.

If I died or became incapaciteded I doubt anyone here(but maybe one maker) would ever know and I guess that's the way it should be.

Life goes on.

Alright, if you feel that strongly about it you have my permission not to post your personal tragedies on the forums. ;)
 
I'll come back from the other side and post of my demise only if I'm covertly deanimated by the infamous Dork Ops Mall Ninja Squad, otherwise nobody on here would probably give a flip (bali-pun!).........:yawn:

Perhaps he was assimilated by the Borg.

I tend not to read too much into it, For a lot of people their lives change. They get married or have kids and they just don't have the time to spend. Many guys drift from one hobby to another, or they try to juggle several and finnaly just devote themselves to just one.

Gajinoz used to post a lot, so I noticed his absence also. Hopefully, he just got busy with work or family and doesn't have free time for the forum.
 
Actually, I'm sure that Gaj decided to take time out to study speed-typing and English composition, so he could come back and overwhelm us all with his posting skills. :p

And spelling. Spelling counts too.
 
I plan to simply disappear into the corn field.
 
When I stop posting, it will be because I accidently cut off all my fingers with a balisong.
 
No excuse. When I was in the Postal Service, I had an employee who had blown off his fingers in a fireworks accident when he was a kid. He had no fingers at all on one hand and I think one joint of index and thumb on the other.

Good worker. He could sort mail AND drive a truck. Your hapless balisong handling will NOT deter you from posting, do .. you .. understand !?!? :D
 
Well, I suppose I could type with a pencil held in my mouth or something.

Or maybe I could learn to type (and flip a balisong!) with my toes. Hmmm...
 
I hit a stressfull point in life a few months ago and I didn't post for a while. I still checked in once a week or so but hardly posted for a couple months (did anyone miss me?). Now things are better and I'm here almost everyday and posting a lot more. Could be what is happening with those guys. At some point I plan to post what had happened to me during that time. You guys just won't believe the string of things that happened during that time.
