If something serious happened to me, I believe I would ask my spouse to post something on my behalf. That is if I was able to ask for that.

I still checked in once a week or so but hardly posted for a couple months (did anyone miss me?).

Some people, like you, have very distinctive avatars. So if they disappear, or stop posting in the forums that I read, I do notice it.

Now things are better...
