what happens when you carry a c146 szabo in sweden..

I heard that the Sami castrated reindeer with their teeth. I didn’t tumble to the fact that they were toolless.

Rough that happened to you. We sort of have to deal with the same BS here in Denmark, but luckily I live in the rurals so no security guards and no police around these parts. Also helps I have forest and beaches in my back yard so it's easier to justify carry if I ever do get shaken down.

Didn’t you guys used to be Vikings? What happened?? :(

Politicians wanting to look like they were doing something to prevent knife crime and listening to the people who screamed loudest. Denmark is the worst, then Sweden. Sadly Norway is almost as bad (One needs a decent reason to carry anything the police deems suitable to use as a weapon here...)

Well they actually relaxed some knife laws recently in the Nordic countries according to news, but I'd have to look it up what changed.
The laws were part of the reason why spyderco made the dk (for Denmark). Still some places ate no go areas.
Personally I only ever carry a sak in Sweden for those reasons and never had issues using it in public, but technically the police could object.
Here in Germany the laws are even more so idiotic because it is perfectly fine to carry a fixed blade with up to 12cm blade length. But folders can only be locking or one handed opening, not both... Or slip joints / 2h opening non locking.
Don't even think about daggers or any other blade with double sides grind. Those are considered lethal weapons.

For Denmark they relaxed the rule about one handed opening, in return they removed "EDC" carry. We used to be able to carry non locking knives less than 7cm in blade length no questions asked.

Now we can carry one handed opening locking knives, but we have to justify it every single time.

Same as here in Norway.

It's just so ignorant, vile, saddening, backhanded, idiotic, etc. that politicians enact these asinine laws to coddle the fearful and simple minded and win their votes at the price of liberty and people being able to use the most basic tool.

I think I like it here in Oklahoma. Last time I got pulled over for running a toll, I told the police officer that I had my concealed carry license and my firearm in my gym bag. I told him there wasn’t one in the chamber. It was four in the morning and I was heading to the gym. He let me off with a warning fortunately. He told me to have a good day, then before he left said “that gun won’t do ya no good if it isn’t loaded.”

Yes sir thank you officer.

Screw that! I would have kept the 2 hand requirement and been able to EDC before I made that agreement. How stupid. That's like the states allowing medical marijuana but you must forfeit your Concealed Weapon Permit- yeah nice try...I like the hippie lettuce as much as the next guy but cold dead fingers and all that jazz homie!

I take all of the clips off any folder I carry. I don’t like he idea of a shiny clip advertising that I have s knife. I use a saddleback card wallet as a slip sheath and it works great.

Does the military fit into the card holder?

I really like this idea as I also prefer not to carry clipped as of late due to my work on site but keep the clip on just in case.

Yep, it essentially works as a pocket holster just keeping the knife from shifting around in your pocket.

Here is how I carry a military and bM 928

Stupid laws and/or court. Throw a hand grenade at a police bus and walk, but carry a knife in a pocket that a security guard notice and it will cost you. These are just some of the things eating away at the trust of the judicial system here.

Then again, if you're the grey man and decent at concealment, you can get away with carrying without problem almost all of the time...

Sry for your troubles, TopS.

Nutty knife laws; what should be punished, should be the USE of a knife - not the EDC/carry.

Same thing here in Germany. If you got a socially adequate reason (you are a Fire fighter or a Paramedic for instance), than it's a Tool.

Otherwise - it's a weapon. :eek::confused:

If I understand it correctly, you are allowed to EDC/carry a non locking OHO like the Spyderco UKPK 24-7, right?

Ive heard about the German right to carry a FIXED blade up to 12cm

(Guess, Ill bring my Eickhorn GEK EDC the next time, I go to Germany, lol).

I wonder, what the reasoning was behind EDC of a 12cm fixed blade but not of a locking OHO folder...

fines in sweden is high. and do consider that its my first ”crime”. so i got away easy. you can get jail up to 6 months for carrying a knife here.
Wow that seems a little harsh :(
Are violent "blade" crimes a reality there or is it just a bad law?
