What Happens When You Mention A Non-HI knife?

HD;
Why don't you start a thread "GRS Test" and in the body say the results and review with ABC Product are in the Testing & Review forum, turned out GREAT, TERRIBLE, OK, whatever?
Then sit back and wait for the DOTD, have a beer or coffee and relax.

HD,

It sounds like an interesting comparison and I know I would like to see it. I think it would be fine to post in the Reviews & Testing section and then post a link here in the Cantina. We'll all come by and check it out.

HD, there are folks out there - outside the Cantina - who seriously think that a khukuri is strictly a weapon. (Recall that guy who said they were only for "cutting heads off"?)

Think of the good you do when you show those people, concretely and with your great pics, that a khukuri is a great woods tool. But you have to go "outside" and "wave" or they just keep passin' by on the county road.

Munk -

"What do want to bet someone will 'invent' a knife safety? A locking sheath. "

Gerber did that years ago (at least 10) for a river knife for white water rafting.

You're right I have one of them.

...comparison reviews, belong in Reviews & Testing.

Hollow - It doesn't get any plainer than this on this forum.

My personal thanks to Cougar for putting this into biker terms...HD and Roadhouses...stuff even *I* can understand.

You can review HI khuks. You can mention other blades. (chops like such and such) If your review of a khuk includes a comparison review of another product, not OK.

Just to set the record straight, Mike Turber joined a day or two after Spark started Bladeforums, and a lot of other people joined up about the same time, over a few days.

Ref :

http://groups.google.ca/group/rec.k...98e29?q=bladeforums&rnum=692#103327029dd98e29

This is the announcement on rec.knives of the opening (which was eight years ago), note Mike Turber's position, which he clearifed later on when McClung started ranting about how running the forums wasn't the expense that Turber made it out to be :

Mike Turber was the driving force behind Bladeforums early on who had Spark as an employee. Turber hand invited many of the mods, did reviews, and was very active on the forums directly, both posting content and influencing the tone of the forums as a whole. Turber sold Bladeforums later on to Spark and announced the change here on Bladeforums.

Knifeforums at that time was essentially McClung's discussion forum and was run with a heavy hand which induced the split as people moved to Bladeforums to be able to discuss knives and find "the truth", which was in the origional site description. Bladeforums has changed much since the origional inception, the largest one being first that there was to be no commercial connection of the forums as this was the biggest problem with Knifeforums, that change induced many heated threads over the years as it was implemented.

Good to know Sarge. Sounds like fun. Got a new knife done and finishing it this week. Can't wait to show you guys.

This forum will be much less fun if everyone has to be afraid of saying anything.

I think that the real problem comes from a few threads where the aim seemed to be to talk about how great some non-Hi products are. These products are direct competition to Hi khuks. That did not seem appropriate to me at all.

Not the first time Arty's thrown a gem into the mix.
I just get older, confused and crankier, everyone around me gets better. Nasty, my Brother, what is going on? Has someone tampered with my water supply?

As we age, our true nature shines more brightly.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it anyway...
