What has this to do with khukuris? Everything!

Hey, so I get passionate about my causes. What do you expect of an old protective services investigator? Especially one who was on the northern half of the state's institutional investigation team. Who reviewed snf/ltc facilities?

My license plate reads R0CNANT ( Rocinante, or Roxinate ), and if anyone needs a windmill demolished please give me a call. Reasonable rates.

I doubt it. I'm still so weak I'm thinking of driving up to Fernley late Sunday, renting a motel room, and driving the other 30 miles Monday AM.

While we're waxing philosophical, has anybody seen this?

Does anybody else get an "Uh-oh, this is not good" alarm in their head?

"Religious minorities living in an Islamic state must be identified," he said.

The Taleban have not yet decided what sort of an identity label Hindus will have to wear.

There are at least 5,000 Hindus living in Kabul. Thousands of other Hindus live in other Afghan cities, but there's no reliable figure on exactly how many.

It was unclear whether foreigners living in Afghanistan would be required to wear the identity label.

Degrade our position

Anar, an Afghan Hindu in Kabul who uses just
one name, told AP he does not want to wear a
label identifying him as Hindu.

"It will make us vulnerable and degrade our
position in the society," he said.

But Munawaar Hasan, general secretary of a major Islamic political party called
Jamaat-e-Islami, or Islamic Party, said the move seems aimed to give protection to Hindus.

"The Taleban should win praise for this step," he said. "Providing protection to
religious minorities is a must in any Islamic country and this step seems in line with this concept."

Now, why does this sound familiar? Hmmm. Oh, yeah, Germany, 1938

Oh, man . . . that DON't look good.

Waves of deportation sound like one of the BETTER things that might lead to. Some of the other options I don't want to think about.

OOOOoooooohhhhh yeah....And you've got to admire the lengths the Taleban went to in protecting the Buddhist monuments. No further harm can come to something that has been reduced to dust and rubble, so they are now permanently "protected".

These guys have trampled over the Koran so many times that believing they will respect any religion is pure stupidity. They claimed the monuments were "a blight on Islam" but they are a worse affliction all by themselves.
