Field or garden, all are welcome in this thread!

This is a big fir, and I took some of its resin, (the phase somewhere between sap and amber). I'll be using it for concocting a sheath leather preservative, and maybe making some little fire starting kits that I can include with some of the knives and/or sheaths I make. Harvested with the help of my trusty CPK Basic5.

went back today for another big resin haul. Most of the good stuff was in the ground, but I snagged some of this funky stuff for starting fires mostly.

Processed a bit of Maple sap into Maple syrup.

I got the resin over flames on the weekend;

one more heat, and it'll get squeezed out through cloth- there is tons of needles, moss and soil in these nuggets. There probably won't be too much resin after all is said and done, but not much is better than none, and the effort is enjoyable.
