What HI blade do you just gotta have?

Tedwca,
It does sound just like it. But, I would hold out for the carved wooden hilt, that pointed Himalayan sword point, and the leather covered wood sheath. Also the tough HI steel sounds good to me as well. In a sword, a little weight is not a bad thing. Your Busse is functional, but it just isn't as artistic as the HI sword. No offence, I hope!

Nope, no offense taken. If you notice I have a bunch of HI villager khuks and swords. I have a dozen or so Khuks from another khuk company. I have one Busse, the AK-47. It is a wonderful sword, but doesn't have the soul of the HI's.

You are so right about the villagers. I would like to get a simple villager BAS, if I can beat the sharks one of these days I might be so lucky.
The villager BAS was my first khuk; I really like it. It's perfectly fine for light chopping.

Well I have just started on H.I. Khukuris. So far I have an 18.5" Ganga Ram and a 16.5" WWII. I have well over 200 knives and few impress me the way the H.I. Khukuris do. So when I have two of each, one to use and one to display, I'll be done, maybe.;)

My must-have khukuri is the Samsher...hope to see a good one soon!

The crow knife sure is tempting though...! And the Uddha sword....and, um...well, I better stop while I'm ahead. :D

Hmmm, sounds like my Busse AK-47. 18.5" INFI blade and 11" micarta handle. I could've had 4 Himalayan swords for the same price. sigh....

Looks like good old bauernwehr is not dead yet.

My just gotta have HI is this pretty thing conjured up outta the depths of Lefthandblack's mind!!!!  :D
I don't know just exactly how I'm gonna manage getting one of these When/If they do come about but I'd dearly love to have one and especially in the Village Style and I'll manage someway, even if I have to sell my Shop 2 HI 18" AK with the two karda's I made especially for it!!!! :(
One of these with a beautiful dark Rosewood or even a Chandan handle with a blued Villager blade would be the Cat's Pajamas and I'd be hard pressed to choose which to carry with my as new P-1/P-38 Walther!!!! :D  ;) :p

I recently emailed Yangdu to order a 20" AK. This one'll have the 5/8" thick blade with a villager finish and little or no cho creep, a standard handle with traditional bolster and a Salyan style buttcap.

I've wanted a plain jane Kumar Karda for quite a while now. Though an M43 and Crow knife are a little higher on my want list.....

A thinner stock, plain handled Kumer Karda would be just awesome. I'd grind a choil into the blade just above the bolster and probably add some serrations to the spine. Kind of like what Nasty did to one of his smaller knives. Christmas 2001 I got my mom a Kumar Karda with the fancy handle, that thing has a 1/4" thick spine and a wicked sharp edge. Eats Cardboard and carpet like a mad man. Love that knife and so does she. :)

Actually I'm kinda satiated with HI blades right now. Although I'm doing a sheath for someones Sarge knife, and his is light years better than mine. Great chandan handle. Beautifully done blade. I think mine were blems though. Makes me want to try for one more. But I have two. I figure, let another guy get a chance. This is the reason I've slowed down. My collection of HI seems large, and I can't figure out another one I want. Of course, I'd like a Munk Chunk, and an AK bowie, and maybe a long Chitlangi, and a Sirupate. Oh well. These things take time.

you know... i just received my 9/16" thick bhutan sword, wich has a pretty deep fuller, making it like the gelbu special. if you put a double fuller on it, it would be very similar to the knife in that photo...

holding that thing just reiterates my love of 1/2"+ thick knives. i'm going to have to buy another set of springs and do my 3/4" grind down project again with the bottom catch spring. whatever the thing is called... the thickest one in a multi spring 3/4 ton truck spring set.

the patang at 3/4" thick.... it would be like a dream, unreal but utterly captivating

I want a villager Gelbu 21" wooden handle with a normal cho by Bura :D
One of these days I'll ask about one.
There's an oddball model that's somewhat similar that comes up now and then, I might shark one of those instead.
A non-fancy handle YCS would fit the bill as well, I want a thin-bladed fat-bellied fighter. I like my argyle YCS too much to risk dinging it up :D

Beautiful, Yvsa. Looks like a workhorse, but a real fighter as well. I would bet Jim Bowie would have been proud to have carried one of these. If they ever make them, count me in!
