What High-End / MidTech Knife Should I get First?

maybe yours but their is a lot of proof that not everyone is as lucky as you are. That AXD with that lovely signature is a prime example of his slippage. You seem to have a friendship with this person now. Your comments about loving the guy like family and what not has be feeling you are a bit closer to DDR than most. I dont think its out of the question to assume you may get a little more attention to detail. And I am not saying that is a bad thing. Im not saying its favoritism as this happens all over in the knife world. You take care of your own, especially loyal, vocal and visible customers.

I've had my dud DDR. IIRC, that was around 2010. Things are better than ever today. Now that HTM is dust in the wind, everything is being cut with wire EDM.

To be fair, I'm completely biased.

No... I know him from outside the shows. He lives 20 minutes from me in Clovis. He'll be moving to the Midwest soon .

Ah ok so you have hear of him. Yes I know I'm in fresno aswell I met him at a swap meet at the sportsmans club. He was selling fakes and counterfeits.
 
Yeah he said he's moving to Tennessee but he doesn't know if he'll continue making...

Dude that is the one thing i absolutely respect you for. You are honest. And that honesty gives me faith you may be right about ddr. Next time he is at a show in my area ill give his stuff another look. Dont change man.

Hopefully once I get my mill, you can respect me for more than my honesty :p

DDR is a maker who can build a knife exactly how I want. It's taken a while for him to learn my needs but now he is like that one guy at the party... the only guy who brought cocaine. When you find a maker like that, you stick with him.

Your skills have been getting much better even with the limited tools at your disposal. If you are getting a mill you may as well put me on your list right now. I know you "get it" and id be honored to own something from you. And im serious man, put me on your books for whenever that happens.

This is the machine I'm buying. I will add a 2 axis DRO and a quill readout. Once I teach myself CAD/CAM, I'll do a Flashcut CNC retrofit.

Why don't you ease up. Read the forum rules. This is a family oriented forum. We also have women here, and kids, possibly as young as 13, and maybe some men who just don't appreciate profanity.
 
Don't overlook the Umnumzaan. It's a pretty excellent knife. If you want a more unique one, there is the Wilson Combat Startac Umnumzaan.
